This weekend has been a really lovely one. Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending one of my best friends weddings in Hazel Grove, Stockport, near Cheshire, and thankfully we were blessed with a nice day and not a rain drop in sight!
Out of all the events I’m lucky enough to attend – weddings rarely appear on my list. However, as soon as I hit 25 in May, the invites started pouring in as friends slowly start tieing the knot. Not a bad thing – dressing up for a wedding is one of my favorite dress-up occassions!
For this particular wedding, the ceremony took place at a traditional church, followed by the reception eent at Hazel Grove Golf Club, so I figured I would be best opting for a lovely dress (any excuse to wear a dress). I ended up selecting one from Zara, which is actually last season’s dress! I featured it on my blog when the range launched…anyone remember?
It’s the Bubble Skirted Leopard Print Zara dress which I love! Since the wedding was in September, I figured it was alright to opt for a darker shade dress, as we’re kind of entering winter officially now anyway! The one dilemma I had was chosing a belt – I wanted a pretty one with a bow feature somewhere along the line.
After a trip to Manchester’s Trafford Centre – 15 shops later- I found a lovely Vintage Bow Detail belt from Dorothy Perkins. It was exactly what I had in mind except for one exception – it was black and silver, and my accessories were gold. Solution? Out came the gold nail varnish! I managed to paint around the silver bits to transform the belt into a sparkling black and gold number…
So there we go – abit of DIY went into my wedding outfit!
As I don’t usually cover weddings on the blog, I thought i’d make an exception today and post an image gallery to showcase some snaps of the lovely day!
