Want to Relieve Stress and Anxiety? Go All-Natural

Stress and anxiety are the two most common enemies of a carefree life nowadays. Not only do they prevent you from living a happy life, but they can also cause various illnesses and put your entire well-being in danger. Therefore, you should look for ways to battle stress and anxiety successfully. Going natural is certainly the best way to do it and here’s what you can do to feel at ease after a long time.

Work on being mindful more often

Being present in every moment of your life has become more difficult than you’ve probably noticed. How often did you go from your office to your home without actually remembering which path you took? Or you’ve maybe been having lunch without feeling like you’ve had a single bite of food. That’s all the consequence of working on autopilot instead of thinking about the actions you’re doing.

Situations like that will eventually lead you to miss important appointments or forget what you need to pick up from the store, leaving you stressed out and behind schedule. To prevent stressing out anymore, try to stay in the present and pay all the attention to your actions.

Start exercising more

Physical activity is crucial to having a clear mind. No matter what kind of stress you’re going through, blowing off steam at the gym or running outdoors will help you overcome all the struggles.

Exercising releases feel-good endorphins and helps you become more resilient to stress. Therefore, start slow and break a sweat at least three times a week for half an hour. Whether you opt for a full-body workout, cardio or maybe flexibility exercises, as long as you’re speeding up the heart rate and sweating it out, you’ll feel more relaxed and prevent stress from affecting your life as much.

Improve your diet

The food you’re eating has lots of influence on the way you feel. That’s why you should start considering what you put inside your body and switch up your diet. Consuming natural food when possible will power and fuel your days preventing you from feeling sluggish.

Some of the foods that will lower your anxiety include salmon, turmeric and dark chocolate. If you’ve been thinking about supplementing your diet, buy kratom powder and give a chance to innovative products instead of trying to drown your stress in a bucket of ice-cream. Chamomile tea is rich in herbal compounds which bind to the same brain receptors as drugs like Valium. This means a cup of chamomile tea will have tranquillizing effects on you and reduce stress and anxiety.

Find some me-time

Having some time for yourself is essential for a stress-free mind. Take a bubble bath while you indulge in a glass of wine and let all your worries go away. Put dried lavender in a vase near your bed, use a lavender-rich moisturizer or light up a candle with a lavender scent to enjoy some aromatherapy while you’re in the tub.

Schedule a massage once every two weeks to relieve all the tension and let you recharge. A day at the spa or just an hour of lounging on your sofa surfing through the channels can be therapeutic after a long day at the office. As long as you’re by yourself and doing what gives you great pleasure, you’re going to feel like a reborn person. Stepping into a sauna after a workout will heat your body up, making anxiety subside. What’s more, you’ll be in a much better mood after feeling warm.

Practice deep breathing

Faster heartbeat, quicker breathing and constricted blood vessels are some of the symptoms caused by stress hormones which your body releases when it goes into fight or flight mode. One of the great ways to reduce stress is to breathe deeply. The goal of deep breathing is to shift your attention from stressful thoughts to your breath, which will eventually subside the symptoms.

By doing deep breathing exercises, your parasympathetic nervous system will activate, which will in return control the relaxation response. In addition to deep breathing, meditation can also be one of the strategies that will help you feel more at ease. By learning how to filter out unnecessary clamour from your life and focusing on finding your centre, you’ll be able to control your stress levels and anxiety much better.

Avoiding stress and anxiety can be challenging, but with the previously mentioned tips, it can certainly be done quickly. Therefore, be sure to go through all of them in detail and see all the therapeutic benefits they have on your mind.

Great article! We don’t appreciate the “ME-time” enough and that usually causes a lot of stress because all our energy is focused elsewhere. With this comes inappropriate diet and not enough exercise…and we all know where this leads to.
