The Top 5 Spa Breaks For Your Mum This Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day creeping up on 31st March 2019, it’s easy to get a little stressed out about what gift to get for your Mum. If you’re anything like me and my mum, I just love spending time with her, with material things pushed to one side.

I mean, if my Mum wants a new outfit, pair of earrings or fragrance, she usually goes out any buys it herself. However, spending a lovely relaxing day with her daughters is pretty much priceless in my eyes, so that’s a gift I’d put forward if anyone wanted to ask me personally what I would recommend.

So without waffling on too much, I’ve rounded up 6 of the best spas around the North West, who have lovely spa days available especially for Mother’s Day. You don’t have to book in especially on that weekend – you can always have a look at what’s on offer and book in for a following weekend.

It’s totally up to you, but here are some of my personal favourite spas around…

Peckforton Castle: Luxury Spa Day with 2 Treatments & Prosecco @ 4* Peckforton Castle, now £69

Now this place is just a truly magical place. I was lucky enough to review an overnight stay and dinner, but sadly it didn’t include trying out the spa. So I can’t vouch personally for how I found it, but I have read copious amounts of reviews online about how stunning this spa is.

Peckforton castle is just magnificent in general: with centuries of tradition within its walls, ageless charm and 4000 acres of forest surroundings, Peckforton Castle is the perfect destination to relax and unwind.

The offer costs £59 instead of £106.50 for a spa day for one person including two 25-minute treatments and a glass of Prosecco, or £115 for two people at Peckforton Castle – saving up to 45%. The offer is available through Wowcher, so do click here to check it out.

You can choose from some of these treatments below for the deal:

  • Elemis taster facial
  • Elemis back massage
  • Jessica file and polish (fingers)
  • Jessica file and polish (toes)
  • Shoulder, neck and scalp massage
  • Le remedi hand treatment
  • Elemis full body exfoliation
  • Jessica foot grooming treatment

Stanley House Hotel, Blackburn

I haven’t actually been to Stanley House, but feel like one of the only people in my circles of friends who hasn’t. They are running a fabulous Mothers Day spa offer which runs from 25th – 31st March 2019 only – so you have to be quick! Check the website out here to go forward with any booking.

The Mother’s Day offer is called the Ila Blissful Spa Ritual, and costs £130 per person

It is described as: “Our spa rituals are for those who wish to indulge in 2 hours of pure, uninterrupted, hands-on relaxation and float away in the world of spa. Immerse yourself in ILA treatments with their beautiful organic products and energy enhancing massages. Your experience will include a Himalayan Salt Foot Ritual, a 60 minute ILA Body Treatment of your choice, and Ananda Facial. Plus 2 hours at leisure within our thermal bathing facilities, and a complimentary gift to take home.”

To book, make sure you quote MOTHERSDAY when booking to claim this exclusive rate. To book your treatment call 01254 769200 or visit www.stanleyhouse.co.uk

*Offer is subject to availability, spaces are limited, book in advance to avoid disappointment. For the comfort of all our guests we request that you pre-book to use the thermal bathing and hydro pool, the maximum stay being a 2 hour period, subject to availability. Statutory 72 hour cancellation policy applies.

The Spa at The Midland

Now whenever anyone asks me for my very two favourite spa experiences, there are always two that come to my mind first. One is Titanic Spa, which I’ve listed a little further down, and the other is city centre based The Spa At The Midland.

For Mother’s Day, they are launching their ‘Just For Her’ Spa day, which includes the following:

  • A 25-minute treatment of choice
  • Champagne afternoon tea in the Tea Room at The Midland
  • An ESPA gift, worth £65

The cost is £99 per person (Monday-Thursday); and £119 per person (Friday-Sunday). Again, the offer is available from 25th March to 30th April 2019. To book, call The Spa at The Midland on: 0161 932 4086 for details.

What I will say is that if you head to The Spa At The Midland, do give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the relaxation room. It honestly is the best relaxation room I’ve visited when I’ve been to spa days

Moddershall Oaks Mother’s Day Lunch

Moddershall Oaks is one of the closest spa days to me, as I’ve currently just moved in with my boyfriend in Newcastle Under Lyme. They do some fabulous spa days, and I’m actually heading there this weekend to check out their new wellness centre, MADE.

But lets take a look at another nice treat worthy to treat your Mum’s too this Mother’s Day. What could be more enjoyable than taking your mum and family out to a stunning lakeside Venue for a Mother’s Day family 3 course lunch here?

Surrounded by countryside and the beautiful lake, Moddershall Oaks are offering a sit down meal, where you will receive a welcome drink each followed by a delicious 3 course meal. Then Mother’s Day menu can be explored here. It costs £38 per adult, with children up to 11 costing £18 (and infants £8)

Tables start at 1pm but are available up to 5pm – please contact us to book.

To reserve your table, please call 01782 399000 or email events@moddershalloaks.com

Titanic Spa, Huddersfield

I couldn’t do a round-up of my favourite spas and breaks for Mother’s Day without including this one. I don’t know whether it’s because Titanic is tucked away in the leafy countryside en route to Huddersfield, overlooking miles of land and the railway track that makes me love escaping to here so much, but either way, I always feel like I’m away from the whole world when I visit.

If you really want some quality time with your Mum, Titanic are running some excellent deals if you stay in the month of March. The best prices are those during week days, but do have a full check online here.

Titanic has gorgeous rooms split onto two levels, with little balconies to sit out on if you manage to get a rain-free day. The restaurant serves up delicious meals, but the bar area is possibly one of the most stylish spa bars I’ve ever seen.

The highlight for me every time is the outdoor hot tub. They offer a range of treatments, from massages to facials and everything in between, but their heat and ice experience rooms are also a firm favourite among guests.

There you go… 5 lovely places perfect for all the Mothers out there. Let me know if you decide to book any. Especially if it is The Spa at The Midland or Titanic, the ones I’ve visited a few times before and feel I could recommend them forever…
