It’s been a month jam packed with Press Days, but for some of us working in the fashion industry up North, it can be become impossible to attend them! How many times I have been fed up this month with declined press day invites due to Manchester based duties…*sigh*
Anyway, I managed to check out the River Island A/W11 Press Day and what a lovely visit it was. Some of the key trends showcased were Ethnic and Tribal (fringing, wooden accessories, suedes, tribal prints, precious stones) Detailing (lots of fur trims, feather trims and studs) Loafers Girlified (loafers with added on platforms and super stacking heels) and Statement Prints (animal prints, spot prints and tartan prints) . Take a look…
Lots of darker colours with bold statement pieces i.e: Canary yellow bag as above
Loafers have been spruced up with heels and made more attractive.
My favorite pieces were the studded shoe boot (true River Island bling!), the oversized feather clutch bag, and the stripe panel A Line skirt. I have always been a fan of feathers so I am really loving that they are being used again next season, oh and those shoe boots with the feather tuft at the ankle have also blown me away! A truly lovely collection to brighten up those dull Autumn mornings!
