Pretty Interiors

Although my website may be organised into neat little columns and tidy layouts, I am actually a very unorganised person. Believe it or not, when I sit and blog, or when I start to write pieces for various magazines/websites, I use my bed as a desk. I know it’s shocking! I have my laptop, magazines, notepads, paper, pens, phone…. everything sprawled out on my bed. It usually works out very well until I cleverly decide to rest my mug of tea on my notepad, then I suddenly move and my duvet rises up and yes… tea stained paper and a waterlogged laptop!

So this weekend I am investing in a desk. One that will help me become just as organised as my little website. The fun part in this is that I get to pretty-up my desk with gorgeous accessories and give it a little bit of a ‘setting’. I am pretty much trend-obsessed and research into trends of everything not just fashion (it’s not that sad, honestly!), so I already knew which interior trend I wanted to follow. There is a beautiful ‘Folk Style’ trend that is big for interiors for Autumn/Winter 2010, which looks very kitsch in bedrooms and kitchens. It focuses on small prints, flashes of colour and a touch of vintage to add glamour and sunshine to interiors for the darker seasons.

After having a little gander around different shops for quirky accessories to breathe life into my new bedroom addition, I settled on eclectic store Urban Outfitters. How could I resist their cute collections of little gadgets and gizmo’s, which would dress my desk up to the nines and scream ‘spend some time with me!’. The only problem will be tearing myself away! Have a look at some of their new products below that I fell in love with…

Urban Outfitters Bird Hook £5

Urban Outfitters Daisy Wall Art £30

Urban Outfitters Mr P Kiss Mug £8.00

Urban Outfitters Polaroid Notes £9.99

Urban Outfitters Floral Memo Board £18
