When it comes to Christmas cards this year, I decided to get my craft head on and have a go at making some personalised cards for my closest family members. I’ve had a manic 5 months back in England since coming home from Australia, and I have pretty much been working really hard as there are some exciting things related to the blog in the pipeline for 2015.
That said, my family have been very supportive of whatemmadid.com, so I wanted to create some hand-made cards which represent my blog, yet also wishing them a Merry Christmas too. And of course, to showcase a little creativity too! So here we go, introducing my new toy to keep me busy – the Kirstie Allsop Stamp Stationary Kit.
The kit comes with cards, envelopes, stamps, an ink pad, 3D adhesive gems, card strips and adhesive stickers to help create personalised and unique cards. However, the stamps and gems can also be incorporated onto gift tags, wrapping paper and postcards, so it doesn’t just have to be used for occasion cards.
It’s come in great use for me with my mini project to make Christmas cards; I printed out a little picture of me in my Christmas attire (yep – snuggly onesie and reindeer slippers) with my Merry Christmas from Whatemmadid.com paper (of course written in lipstick) and Christmas background, and then began to start stamping away and personalising my cards. The stamps come in all sorts of decorative designs, so they really help to add that pretty touch to your crafts.
I added a few extra embellishments such as jewels, bows and Christmas themed stickers, sketched a little bit of naming and added some pretty coloured backgrounds and voila! Cards sealed with love. I also expanded my stamp-crazy craftyness by decorating my brown paper gift wrap too (I’m such a sucker for brown paper, even during the festive season). So as you can see, there are so many uses with these little creative craft kits. At Hobbycraft, the range of gifts are extensive, so if you want to perhaps gift someone quite arty with something that they will get lots of use out of (along with fun!) then why not check out the gifts they have?
I for sure have had a very crafty Christmas card-making day, and have thoroughly enjoyed every second of it today!
