Lifestyle: And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon Pop Up Cafe

Last week, I headed down to Didsbury Park in Manchester to check out a new venture that is close to my heart – a cakery of course! I have blogged about the popular afternoon tea and cake café And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon before, and have always rated it very highly for it’s cute and quirky interior, amazing selection of cakes and teas, and all round fabulous eatery. I have visited on a number of occasions and have enjoyed drinking tea out of teapots complete with tea cosy’s and nibbling on cakes I can only describe as out of this world. On another note, I have also found it excellent value for money in comparison to others in the area.

The new venture for them is the launch of their ‘pop up’ café, teaming up with local charity ‘Didsbury Good Neighbours’ which launched from the end of July. The venue will provide a family friendly place to visit, to enjoy a selection of drinks and cakes, but also savoury food which people crave in the hot Summer days. Situated in the parks pavilion, they will also be hosting fun and creative community events for both younger and older members of the family. I headed along to the exclusive launch to sample some of the fine foods and drinks on other, and sat in the garden area outside to enjoy a slice of what is to come…

The little pop up café is a brick built building in Didsbury Park which features a pretty garden style outside area with tables and chairs, perfect to bring your friends and family for a slightly different day out. From my pictures, it looks like I only ate all the sweet treats, but there was also a selection of quiche, sandwiches, cous cous and salads too on offer, just a small sample of what is to come!

And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon pop up café also will host a number of events this Summer, as displayed on the board below. If you live in the Manchester area, I recommend taking a visit!
