First of all, if you follow me on Instagram, I’ll apologise now for the holiday spam I littered you with the other week. Myself and my boyfriend Martin went to Paphos in Cyprus for a week and literally had the nicest break I could have asked for.
We stayed towards the bottom end of Paphos, around a 20 minute stroll to the Harbour, and close to a lot of the grand 5 star hotels which lined an array of private beaches.
We wasn’t exactly staying in one of incredible 5 star all-inclusive hotels, but we were in the very lovely 4 star Aloe Hotel, which made a fantastic base for our trip.
Before heading away, I chose a selection of outfits from River Island to form the basis of my holiday shop. I always find River Island never lets me down, from their sizing to their styles, so I picked up four lovely items to take with me.

First up is a midi style dress I had my eye on for a while, due to currently going through a midi dress obsession. This black and white print midi dress is ankle skimming, floaty and lightweight, looking pretty awesome with the perspex heels I paired it with. I spotted it after browsing RI dresses online and realising it is pretty much the ideal length and style for those warm Cypriot evenings.
The Puff Sleeve dress is currently reduced, and you can find it here if you like the look of it!
You can never beat a bit of classic monochrome in my opinion…
Next up was swimwear, which I have to admit I’m now a fully fledged fan of the good old swimming costume. I mean, I’m not even body conscious about my tummy or anything (which is a positive as I know its so easy for women to get hung up about it), but I just feel so much more ‘together’ and confident when wearing a swimsuit.
I wanted one with a bit of a difference, with some cute detailing and accessories so I could feel a little bit ‘extra’ on the beach, so to speak!
After browsing the RI swimwear pages online, I came across this gorgeous shimmery Cream Glitter One Shoulder Swimsuit, which comes with a gold detailed one strap and a waist belt. How glamorous for those balmy beach days?
I spent a lot of time putting high-waisted denim shorts over the costume and wearing it like it was a top during day trips etc too. Well, if you can get double the wear out of an item…
One dress I wore in particular got a lot of questions over on my Instagram, which I didn’t expect as my photos were quite distant. It’s the smock style dress below, which I shared on my Instagram Stories during a late night walk along the beach.
We spotted some beautiful little beach huts with sun loungers, therefore I had to stop for a cheeky little photo!
This dress is also from the RI dresses page, and is super loose fitting, floaty and lightweight, perfect for holiday evenings.
River Island once again did me proud during my recent holiday when it came to giving me holiday fashion inspiration!
The best thing is, I’ll no doubt be wearing the two dresses for occasions for the rest of the year, and the swimsuit will most definitely be making an appearance for my next sunshiney trip.
