Something I’m finding becoming more and more common amongst my social circles is stress. I bet you weren’t surprised to hear me say that, either! Whether it’s mild stress, stress that reoccurs due to certain activities, or a more severe stress that struggles to go away.
If you ask me personally, I feel like life has just gradually become more demanding and pressured for most people. Jobs have become more 24/7, life has become more expensive all round, and social media makes people constantly connected – which can be a bad thing for mental health and stress levels.
I mean, for one, we’re constantly glued to devices, which is bad for us anyway. Two, it means we can never switch off from emails and clients and social media messages and all sorts. And three, its easy to just talk to anyone, get FOMO of other peoples lives, feel inadequate…. the list goes on.
I for one have been feeling so much more stressed out lately, and it’s more to do with the constant pressure on me in the industry I work in. As most of you will know, I’m a social media influencer and a blogger. Yep, I’m ‘one of the ones who decided to do it full time’ – contrary to people’s opinions on it. I’m also a bridal makeup artist, so I tend to slot in around 3-4 weddings a month as a side line to being a blogger.
My life is ran by social media and the internet, so of course, I put myself out there for a pressured, judged, and stressful life. It’s a 24/7 job, and the fact that I’m not self employed and can only rely on myself and the work I put in in order to get paid is a new sense of stress in itself.
So, I was recently introduced to Zenflore – a new probiotic which is one of the first ‘psychobiotics’. It has been launched at a time when stress seems to be effecting more and more people, and the nation are always looking for safe and simple solutions to reducing stress.
I just received my Zenflore over the weekend, so I wanted to put this blog post together to share everything I know about before I take my course. Then, after around 6 weeks, I’ll report back about how I found it.
What is Zenflore?
Zenflore contains 1714-Serenitas™, a bacterial culture which increases the activity in the areas of the brain associated with emotions, learning and memory, and also reduces the level of the stress hormone, cortisol. A rise in cortisol can have effects on everything, from causing the skin to break out, headaches, and other symptoms related to stress that you just don’t really need!
The 1714-Serenitas culture in Zenflore has been shown in clinical trials to activate areas of the brain that are associated with emotions, learning and memory.
How does it work?
The unique probiotic strain in Zenflore works by becoming part of the gut microbiota, which plays a role in the dialogue between the brain and the gut known as ‘the gut-brain axis’.
The gut-brain axis is the 2-way dialogue between the brain and the gut. Its main job is coordinating both brain and gut functions, by transmitting information from the two. The vagus nerve is the physical link that relays the information between them, which is the largest nerve in the body outside of the spinal cord.
Approximately 80-90% of nerve fibres in the gut run from the gut to the brain. Evidence shows that the bacteria (also known as microbes) in the gut can influence the way the gut and brain communicate. The bacteria in the gut produce more than 50% of the dopamine and 90% of the serotonin found in the body – these can affect feelings of happiness and pleasure.
Current research indicates that a gut with a healthy microbiota is a strong predictor of emotional and mental health…
Is Zenflore a natural supplement?
Yes, Zenflore is a natural supplement. The 1714-Serenitas culture in Zenflore is involved in regulating the immune system which plays an important role in health and well-being. This culture increases activity in the areas of the brain which are associated with emotions, learning and memory, and improved coping while under stress.
Zenflore contains the unique 1714-Serenitas live culture and specially selected B vitamins, and has been formulated to provide complete support for the mind and body during busy and demanding times.
The thing that appealed to me the most is that Zenflore is said to not make you drowsy, and can be taken with other supplements and medicines. There are no known interactions with other supplements and medicines. Although I don’t really take anything else except Vitamin C, Zinc and Collagen supplements, I’m always wondering about mixing tablets together and it’s something to be wary of.
How do you take it?
Zenflore is a natural food supplement. I’ll be taking just one small capsule daily with or without food and at any time of the day, and no refrigeration required. It costs approx. £1 per day (£29.95 for a month’s supply) and is newly launched on Amazon and www.precisionbiotics.com
So, I’m starting my trial today, and I’ll be coming back to you in a few weeks time to let you know how I find it….
See you all soon for updates!
