Discovering Nordgreen: Scandinavian Design and Social Responsibility

It’s been a while since I have done a bit of a ‘spotlight’ brand post on What Emma Did, so I thought I would share one I’ve been a little excited about.

Whatever area of my life I’m thinking about – be it fashion, interiors or general lifestyle – I can’t help but gravitate to Scandinavian influences. I am always pinning Scandi style interiors and fashionable Scandi style influencers all over my Pinterest page for inspiration.

There is just something about that minimalist, fuss-free aesthetic yet capturing pure class and quality.

This leads me to introduce Nordgreen: a Copenhagen brand specialising in scandinavian designer watches with a nod to minimalism and pure quality.

As a watch-lover, I’m one of those slightly annoying customers. I have tiny wrists which mean I like simplistic watches, but one’s which ooze a luxury look and feel, while being practical and timesless.

A watch is something I don’t want to keep replacing. A perfect one for me would be a style I could wear for years on end (appreciating that with wear and tear I would eventually need to replace at some point!) and one that works with my little black dress, right through to that baggy hoody and leggings look for a Sunday walk.

Nordgreen have the belief that all watches should have the highest quality and best design. But as well as this, their Danish background means they look at honesty, sustainability, and putting others first. After realising that as consumers, they couldn’t find any affordable watch company that embodied all of these things, Nordgreen was then created.

Their mission to deliver true Scandinavian design and lifestyle to everyone began, and I for one am super glad about this. Let’s take a loot at some of the designs and collections and why I personally adore this brand.

A brand that gives back

Not only does Nordgreen as a brand want you to feel good about the quality and design of the watch you wear, they care about you how you feel towards what your watch stands for. This has led the brand to have partnered with three global NGOs to create tangible change in the fields of health, education, and environment.

I found it refreshing and thoughtful to discover that with each watch purchased from Nordgreen, you have the ability to choose which cause you would like to support. This can be anything from access to clean water, a cleaner environment or that a full education should be a right for all,

This creates this ethos where not only can you wear a stylish and chic watch you are proud of, but to have an overall connection and feel proud yourself to have contributed to the world.

Women’s Watches

I spied three key designs from Nordgreen while browsing their offerings, which are Infinity, Native and Philosopher.

Each collection is kept to a minimalist, classic styling which in my eyes is forever timeless. When I look for a watch design, all I want to see is a fuss-free approach to the design, with a clear face which represents a premium looking finish, with a sleek strap either in mesh or leather.

Some of my favourites include the styles pictured, and I have to say the Infinity Rose Gold Mesh and Infinity Silver Mesh are two stand-out pieces for me.

I also love the beautiful style of the Native Rose Gold Brown Leather – which captures everything a watch should be in my eyes. A clean dial with a subtle, light grey minute mark and rounded lugs. Although I browsed this under Womens Watches, the style is fairly unisex, yet would still look beautiful on my tiny wrists.

And of course, you can’t beat a traditional black leather strap watch. Overall, I’m just really impressed with their ethics and ethos, as well as their stunning Scandi design elements.

What’s more, the styles at Nordgreen come with inter-changeable straps, therefore the looks can be redefined for every occasion. Perfect!
