Best Travel Jobs to Make Money Abroad

You want to see the world but are not sure how to make enough money? Luckily, there are many job opportunities which will offer you either enough money or at least accommodation and various benefits.

The list of jobs is enormous, but some of them are more interesting than the rest. Therefore, let’s go through some of the most popular travel jobs and see if some of them suit your skills and abilities.

Write for travel websites or run your own travel blog

Writing for travel sites, agencies, or writing guest posts for other blogs is one of the fastest and most efficient ways to earn money while traveling. Not only is it a great way to improve your portfolio, but you will also learn a lot more about a particular country while having fun! You can also write for your own blog but it is a bit tougher. You need a lot of time and effort to build an audience.

However, if you are dedicated and skilled, you could end up earning a few thousand dollars every month, mostly through sponsored content, online sales and ad revenue.

Teach English in schools or online

If you are a fluent English speaker, or at least near that level, you can definitely go for teaching while abroad. There are many non-English speaking countries, especially in Asia, where you can easily find English teacher jobs.

Even though qualifications aren’t always needed, you should seek for the best PTE coaching program online or practice for TEFL or TESOL certification. Depending on the country you are visiting and your own wishes, you can either work online, or try to make a career in Korea, Taiwan, China, or Japan. If you enjoy working with kids, spending a few months or years in a school could be a great experience.

Travel photography and videography

This is a dream job for every person who profoundly enjoys photography. Shooting photos around the world and earning money is a great combination. However, there are many different ways of approaching this job abroad. You can offer your services to companies or other travelers in your current destination.

Besides that, you can put your photos and video clips online, on sites such as Shutterstock, and receive a few bucks for every download. There are many people out there looking for talented photographers, and if you are one of them, don’t miss out on the opportunity of having such an exciting job abroad.

Try affiliate marketing or open your own online store

This is not an easy way to make money online since your competition can be high and you need a few months of research to find a suitable niche. On the other hand, there are many different benefits if you go for this model of income.

You don’t even have to start your own website – you can create your store on other platforms and promote your products. However, if you can’t manage to take control of your inventory on the road, you can go for affiliate sales on your website. Affiliate products are items sold by a third party and you receive a small commission for marketing (usually 4-12$).

Housesitting

This one is a bit different than the rest. The most significant difference is that most of the time, you won’t get paid. However, there are huge benefits that you shouldn’t underestimate. You will have a place to live for a week, month, or even a year, depending on the gig.

And you won’t have to pay for accommodation! You’ll probably have to take care of pets but if you are an animal lover, you probably won’t have a massive problem with that task. Furthermore, you’ll have a place where you can work online! Whether you are a writer, teacher, graphic designer or web developer – you will have your own workplace for free.

Making money abroad is necessary, but you can also have a lot of fun while doing any of these jobs. However, the list of jobs is a lot longer – you can consider working in a bar, restaurant or hostel too.

You can even go for cruise ship employment, fruit picking or massages. The main rule is to stick to your affinities and try to go for the best solution based on your skills.
