Beauty: Elizabeth Arden Sunkissed Pearls SS15 Collection

When it comes to cosmetics, I obviously love using products which work really well and ‘do what they say on the tin’ so to speak. But I’m also a sucker for beautiful packaging. The new Elizabeth Arden Sunkissed Pearls Limited Edition SS15 Collection does both these things; the products work wonderfully, and they are also decorated in the loveliest pearlescent packaging. As well as looking super sweet being boxed up in sugary hues of pink, baby blue and apple green, the packaging is also holographic and shimmery, giving a luxe effect.

However, as they say you should never judge a book by it’s cover, I was hoping the collection of cream eyeshadow stylo pens, bronzer and highlighter and lip gloss trios would live up to their perfect exterior. And thankfully, they did indeed…

The collection and it’s colours reminds me of the sea – lots of shimmery holidays colours in it’s sea blue packaging with shiny shell details. At first glance, the bronzer and highlighter in shade Warm Pearl 02 looks lustrous – with a warming bronze shade complimenting a rose pink gleaming highlighter. You only need a tiny amount and it gives a healthy glow to cheek bones, as well as slightly contouring and adding definition. There are actually two shades to this bronzing palette, with one being darker than the other so you can pick which one suits the look you need. I found the lighter bronze shade perfectly blends into my skin tone without looking too ‘orangey’ or dark, and is lovely to use on days when I just want a touch of warmth to my cheeks. However, the darker shade is fantastic for contouring, with the shimmery highlighter swept over the tops of my cheeks to give a shaded and highlighted look.

In the below photographs, I’m using the lighter shade bronzer with a small sweeping of highlighter, and the Pink Pearl lipgloss from the Beautiful Color Lip Gloss Trio (which comes in Pink Pearl, Coral Pearl and Berry Pearl)

The make-up products I have from this stunning collection are listed below, along with their prices:

Sunkissed Pearls Bronzer & Highlighter, RRP £28
Sunkissed Pearls Cream Eye Shadow Stylo, RRP £19
Sunkissed Pearls Lip Gloss Trio, RRP £28

The lip gloss trio set makes the best gift for the girls out there who love wearing glosses over lipsticks, and suit really girly, pinky shades. As for the Cream Eyeshadow Stylo pens, they come in three creamy, pigment-rich colours of Freshwater Pearl, Bronze Pearl and Blue Pearl, providing a satin finish. I tend to use the Freshwater Pearl as a base colour, and blend in the Bronze Pearl for a brighter-eyed look for during the day. However, because I have grey-blue eyes, I find when I add a touch of the Blue Peal to the upper and lower lash line it really brings out the blue in my eye colour and opens them up, giving a dazzling look, ideal for evenings. The colour glides on so easily, and if you set your eyelids first with a primer or a layer of loose powder, the colour doesn’t smudge and just stays put all evening.

I have only really purchased Elizabeth Arden foundation before, and have never looked into the range of bronzing, highlighting, eye colours and lip glosses before. The Sunkissed Pearls Collection is definitely a nice product selection to introduce me to the Elizabeth Arden brand further, and I’m intrigued now to sample some of the brands lipsticks and eye colour palettes now.
