OK so this is always hard for me to do… putting photographs on the blog which bear all wearing no make-up. Even worse than that- if possible- is uploading photos on here of my skin post-treatment. However, I wanted to show you real imagery, so it’s had to be done!
If you are a regular reader of whatemmadid.com, you may remember my post back in 2014 about my first treatment of the Genuine Dermaroller procedure, which I had carried out at SkinViva. If you haven’t read it before, check it out here. They recommend a course of 3 to start seeing the best results, therefore I gave it a period of 7 weeks and then headed back to SkinViva for treatment number 2. The images below are to show you the extent of the redness after the procedure, which you’ll see isn’t actually bad at all when you take into consideration Dermaroller is a micro-needling treatment, where thousands of needle columns roll into the skin to stimulate the skin’s natural healing response, thus the production of collagen and elastin is increased which then plumps up the skin.
I had the treatment back in December, but wanted to post this in mid January so I could see how my skin has reacted during the time I have gave it to start producing the collagen, and working away to repair itself. So, I am happy to report that it has been 5 weeks since my last Dermaroller treatment and I have now started seeing results. It takes a while, so if you are having this procedure done for scarring, fine lines, sagging skin or stretchmarks, please do bear with it.
It’s a process which continuously works by the skin constantly repairing itself, so after this time period I have started to see the skin on my cheeks and jaw line looking slightly more plumped up, with any bad texture slowly seeming to fade a little. I would describe it best as any lines, scars and marks being ‘blurred’ – as if the marks from before have been rubbed out a little bit and are slowly being erased.
I’ll be booking in for the third treatment in February and depending on how my skin is looking in March/April, I may make it my final one. However, I have a pretty good feeling I’ll be happy with the results. If there are any areas I feel I may want more concentration on, for example any areas of past breakouts which are more dented and struggling to fade, dermal fillers are another option for me at SkinViva, which can be inserted directly to the problem area in hope to plump out the scar mark and create a smooth, all over improved texture.
I have a friend staying with me at the end of this month who has been searching for a professional clinic to carry out botox in her lips for a while now, therefore I recommended she take a look at SkinViva. I know how well trained and skilled Dr Time Pearce and the team are who carry out the procedures, so I feel really confident recommending this clinic to everyone.
Keep checking back for my third post about treatment session number 3! Looing forward to seeing more results…
