5 Effortless Ways to Spoil Yourself This Week

Deadlines. Commutes. Your boss. The children. Your relationships. Social commitments. Everyday life…its seems that the list of things that makes us stressed, tired and utterly exhausted is getting longer all the time.

And although many of the daily stresses we get through are rewarding, it doesn’t mean that we don’t feel the strain any less.

If this sounds all too familiar then you need to ask yourself: when was the last time you treated yourself? I don’t mean that incredible trip to Vienna two years ago (check out tickets for the Vienna state ballet here if that sounds tempting!) I mean, something spontaneous, a quick fix of you time, or a chance to let your hair down?

Or even just indulging in that delicious slice of cake and 20 minutes peace?

The probable answer is it was too long ago! So, I’ve collected some super simple ways you can spoil yourself this week that won’t break the bank! Enjoy!

Head to the spa

Spa retreats are called that for a reason: they make you feel like you’ve escaped from the outside world and you leave all your worries and cares at the door. Not to mention the steam, bubbles and all the treatments you could need to help massage and sweat those worries away.

If a spa retreat is a little out of your budget right now, don’t worry – pop to your local beauty salon and see what treatments they have on offer. A 30 minute back massage will do wonders for your body and your mind!

Exercise

I know, I know – hardly sounds indulgent. But exercise does so much more for you than the obvious health benefits. Moving your body can help clear your mind and help reduce your stress levels.

Whether you’re struggling for inspiration to complete a task, your frustrated with a colleague or you just want some “you” time – hitting the gym is the perfect place to start. If you don’t want an expensive gym membership then don’t worry – see if they have a pay-as-you-go option instead.

Get some sleep

It’s not always easy to get a good night’s sleep. Especially when your mind is filled with the days activities and all of tomorrows impending work too! Whether you’re up with the baby several times a night, or you’re tossing and turning for an unknown reason, try to catch up on a little sleep with a nap. Nap when the baby naps or try at catch a powernap on your break.

Buy yourself flowers

Who says you have to wait to be gifted flowers so you can enjoy them? Head to a florist or your local supermarket and pick up a bunch of your favourite blooms. Pop them in your favourite vase and enjoy them at home – every time you see them you’ll smile to yourself!

Indulge

Believe it or not – calories don’t count when you’re treating yourself! So, head to that new café on the high street and spoil yourself with an indulgent coffee and an even richer slice of cake! Or, dust off your baking books and make something from scratch.
