As well as paying my utmost attention to the SS11 trends at this years London Fashion Week, it would have been rude not to notice a current fashion theme circulating around the fashion industry insiders for AW10. The majority of fashionista’s walked around sporting the hairstyle of the season – geisha style buns tied tightly on the tops of their heads (think of the ‘face-lift’ hairstyle). The colour palette of this season has got to be camel (this colour is going to be massive, and anybody who was anybody this week sported this colour in at least one garment), and more importantly, wedge’s were the only shoes to have seen on your feet.
This is all good news to me, coming in at a teeny tiny 5ft 3 and a half, wedges mean I gain the height without gaining the pain. But this seasons wedge trend seems to have a difference – the more unique your pair of wedges are, the trendier you become. Take a look at this beautiful pair that were on exhibition in The Portico Rooms at Somerset House this week.
Also, X Factor icon Diana Vickers looked every inch the superstar when she walked into the Antipodium SS11 show with these little gems on her feet (see image below). Teamed with her metallic skirt and black tights, these shoes really did the talking as she embraced the crowds and admired the collections.
Wedges were also seen parading down the catwalk at the David Koma, Holly Fulton and Topshop Unique shows. So take a hint from London Fashion Week and invest in a pair of printed wedges for the ultimate show stopping style!
