On a recent shopping trip to Boots at the weekend to buy some falsh lashes for my friends birthday, I headed to the Eylure section as I usually do. When browsing through the rows of lashes, I noticed a new product that I’d not yet seen advertised… a ‘Brush On Lashes’ Mascara. Using a special fibre that gives the impression of false lashes, it’s actually in the form of a mascara which builds up your natural lash. I’ve not tried it, so I can’t rant or rave, but I’m an avid false eyelash wearer so obviously this made me take note! It also made me think of this ever so popular eyelash trend, and what could possibly be next?
I found a piece on Fashionising which answered my question – paper eyelashes. The latest eyelash craze has taken inspiration from Ancient Chinese paper cutting, bringing back the art of delicatley cutting paper in an intricate fashion. There’s a brand called Paperself, and they now offer a variety of delicate and pretty decorative lashes all made from paper.
Take a look at some of these images, and yes some of them do look a little daring, but I really appreciate the fine art element. These will dress up basic outfits and create a statement look, and will also provide you with the most fluttery lashes you’ve ever had by far. I would absolutley love to have these applyed, and will be keeping my eye out to see if any other brands produce their own version!
What do you beauty queens think? Do you love or loathe?
