I’ve been living in my own little adobe for a year and a half now, and its safe to say I absolutely adore this little house. It’s just a 2 bedroom end townhouse, but the rooms are unexpectedly large (especially my bedroom), and is fully decorated and modernised to my liking.
When I came to decorate the house and revamp the whole interior, I chose a bit of a mixed theme. I wanted to modernise the place because it had been so awfully old looking from the previous owners, but I also wanted to inject that cosy cottage style appearance, even though my house isn’t really a cottage.
By choosing light wooden finishing’s, a combination of wooden floors and soft grey carpets throughout, cream walls and rustic accessories, I finally created the cute, warm look I wanted to achieve. But I won’t lie, I did it all pretty cheap. I moved into this pad on my own, so budgeted to the extreme with virtually everything. I had the attitude that everything could be replaced after a year if I just got the basics in first, but then 18 months down the line I found myself still sitting on my small two seater brown/charcoal sofa, which served no purpose both visually and for comfort.
So 2017 was the time for change. A sofa should be the focal point in a new home, as it’s the place for gathering friends around, a place to chill out and relax, have a little snooze on it if you need to, and more importantly, set the scene for a stylish living space.
I wanted to bring that touch of elegant, Vogue inspired glamour to my living room, so I chose DFS to help me do this (you can browse the extensive range at DFS here). Although the rooms in my house are larger than you would think, my lounge area is possibly the smallest. But as my two seater sofa and single standalone chair didn’t contribute to much, it was time to invest in a corner styled sofa, which was large enough to comfortably fit 4 or 5 people. Let the mission begin!
After measuring up the space in my living room, realising that I wanted to lighten the room up with a fresh pale grey, and create a cosy corner sofa setting, I discovered the Jasper Corner Sofa. This gorgeous left arm sofa comes complete with a soft check design cushion back, and has the softest seated cushions for the comfiest finish.
When it arrived, it literally nestled in straight away against my back wall, with the corner creation taking place across my window. It encloses my living room space to make a relaxing, homely part of the house, looking extremely inviting for resting, chilling out, socialising, and everything in-between!
The day it arrived, I popped on one of my favourite dresses and literally just indulged in feeling like at last, I had the most stylish living room possible. All thanks to this incredible sofa. It’s amazing just how much this main piece of furniture has completely transformed my lounge. It now oozes sophistication, elegance and glamour. I think I am literally in love with it.
There was a fair share of options I had over at DFS when I was browsing, which all incorporated this cosy corner style and sat within my measurements. Each one offered a range of shades, finishes, fabrics and patterns, giving me the feeling I was really in control of customising my options to make sure I owned the most suitable sofa.
When the delivery guys arrived, they set everything up without me having to assist even a tiny bit. And the best bit was that DFS currently have a sale on, with many of the prices of these super stylish sofas slashed!
I have absolutely no idea why I left it this long to upgrade my living adobe. Now the hard part will be trying to tear myself away from lounging around on my new addition…..
