I had the pleasure of attending a very lovely event the other day hosted by English fashion label Mulberry. They have opened a shiny new store in Manchester’s Spinningfields, and I was very lucky to attend a press lunch beforehand at the cities San Carlo fabulous Italian restaurante. A three course meal, 2 (rather large) glasses of wine and a Mulberry bracelet gift later, I was completely stuffed and looking forward to the evenings events!
The new Mulberry store has moved from it’s King Street location to Manchester’s Spinningfields, where the store has some glamorours neighbours including Flannels, Nicky Clarke and Emporio Armani. I got to the store around 6:30pm and was greeted by hundreds of luxury helium balloons in the shape of the Mulberry Bayswater bag, followed by a rather hunky crowd of male models handing out champagne cocktails for the ladies and Peroni’s for the men.
Daisy Lowe got the party started with a session on the decks, followed by the amazing Sunday Girl who hit the mic and entertained the crowd by singing a number of tracks from the album. My highlight of the evening however had to be a suprise performance from one of my personal favorite performers – Ellie Goulding. She sang a beautiful acoustic version of Guns and Horses with Sunday Girl’s guitarist – very unexpected and very intimate!
Jamie Winstone also made an appearance amongst the celebrity guests, sporting her very own Mulberry bag, and joined in with the crowds nibbling on traditional English snacks such as fish and chip cones, mini Shepards Pies and tiny boxes of Victoria Sponge cakes. Delicious!
All guests were presented with Mulberry goodie bags whch included a selection of Kiehl’s products and Mulberry vouchers to spend instore. Three guests were also lucky enough to win the prize draw by recieving the Mulberry Edie bag from the Spring Summer 2011 range. Sadly I didn’t win and yes I was extremely jealous of the three winners! However, I have my eye on the Alexa bag…. big penny save up in the new year I think!
