Matalan On The Up…

Layered Ruffle Dress £6

We might be fresh out of a recession, but retailers are still struggling to smash targets and storm through their profit regions. So step forward Matalan, the only High Street brand to have sales going through the roof, with an annual profit increase of 30% this year alone.

I’m not going to lie and say I’m a die-hard Matalan fan, the only reason being it’s always such an effort to drive to a Matalan store, almost like a day trip! (So lazy I know). But when I received this news in my work email yesterday, I curiously logged on the Matalan’s website and thought I’d see what it is they are doing so right. And it’s easy to see….they’ve got some really pretty stock in at the moment that I wish I’d checked out before I jetted off on my summer hols! Ah well it’s a hard life, I have another one coming up soon, a perfect excuse to add a few items to the shopping cart!

And it looks like the value store has used its budget wisely this season too, with bringing in Abby Clancy to model there swimwear collection (WAG season and everything…) and also with the opening of two more stores across the UK as well as 5 discount stores that have launched.

Take a look at the latest collections to see why they are currently leading the way in High Street value fashion.

Pull On Ombre Dress £12

Pool Party Dress £18

Lace Box Tee £10

Ditsy Butterfly Shorts £14

I’m off to America shortly and needed a few cheap bits to add to my holiday wardrobe, and found these really cheap items that are such a bargain I could throw them away! (Which I won’t of course because they are all so cute…)

Ethnic Style Cuff Sandal £12

Twisted Bow Bandeau Bikini Top £5

Tiara Straw Stetson £8

Happy shopping people! And well done to Matalan for giving us more change in our purses….
