If you are anything like me, you’ll have some friends who are incredibly difficult to buy for. I always like to think I’m a creative gift buyer and can hunt down a nice selection of gifts for even the hardest to buy for girls (and guys) in my life, but there are the odd occasions when I dry up with ideas. And on the other hand, I have also been told I am equally as hard to buy for. I think it’s the whole working in the fashion industry and running this blog, which means I often get hold of some really cool products, so the majority can struggle to think of things I might not already have.

So. You find yourself in a ‘stuck which gift to buy’ situation. Well I think I may have found a solution. I was recently introduced to the gifting website Wish Want, which has a really simple mantra. You decide on the budget you wish to spend on your chosen person, you then browse a selection of gifts for either male/female or different category themes at that selected price, and you can curate a carefully handpicked book containing 4-12 products from the list. You personalise the book with the design to reflect the chosen person, you insert their name and customise, and create a unique code for the receiver to use to then shop at Wish Want.

As you can see from the above, I had a go at this in a fairly selfish way – I shopped for myself! I wanted to spend £15 on a house hold gift for myself, so I had a little go at entering £15 into the search, browsed the gifts which fell under this price bracket, and added 12 lovely gifts that caught my eye into a cute little book. When the book arrived, it gave me the special code to then enter over on Wish Want once I had decided which item I wanted.

How much of a good idea is this for your friends, partner or families? Say perhaps for the Christmas period, I want to buy my Mum a gift but have absolutely no idea what she wants, I would potentially search for items up to £50 and add them into a gift book designed for her. I would pay online in the same way you would a voucher you were gifting, and have the gift idea book posted out to her. She can then use the £50 code to use on any of the gifts I have curated in the book whenever she wishes, and I get the satisfaction of knowing she’s picked something that she truly loves. Genius right?

It’s also super sweet how you can enter little personalised messages to the recipient in the book, making it a mini keepsake too. Take a look at this uber cool Tealight Bowl I got for myself for £15, as a new house addition gift for my dining table. You just pop a tealight into the bowl and the shiny brass interior creates a warming glow to the room. A small but nifty little accessory for the dining room table, which looks smart and modern in my new monochrome  kitchen.

Dare I say it – we are going to start seeing all the Christmas TV adverts and gift idea emails from retailers coming through before we know it. Christmas (sorry! I said it twice in one blog post!) can be a real stressful time if you are gift shopping for fussy friends, or the ‘girls who have it all’, so why not give Wish Want a go instead? Everyone loves t pick a present themselves, at the same time as also receiving that surprise factor. A few members of my family and friends can look for one these little books arriving later on this year I reckon…
