So October is officially behind us, and we have embraced the month of November! I really don’t know where this year has gone. I arrived back in the UK after my Australia adventure mid July, and it seems unbelievable that it is coming up to 3 and a half months since I’ve been living Manchester life again!
It would be a total lie if I was to say I was looking forward to Christmas – it comes around way too soon – but it’s fast approaching and the heavy Winter weather will be creeping in from this month, so I may as well take it all in my stride and enjoy it! Here is a blog round up of how I have said goodbye to October, and hello to the Wintery cold Christmassy months we have ahead of us…
Drink: Grey Goose Event at Harvey Nichols, Manchester
I am a big vodka drinker, and not to the point where I sup it regularly, but it usually my tipple of choice for evenings out. Therefore I was honored to be apart of Harvey Nichols Manchester and their celebrations for an evening of extraordinary Grey Goose cocktails and a masterclass the other week. The Grey Goose Boulangerie Francois – a beautifully designed artisan French bakery cammionette- visited the Manchester store from 22-26th October (if you follow my social channels, you’ll see I was tweeting and instagramming this!). The GREY GOOSE Boulangerie François from the outside seemed like an ordinary bread delivery van, however, to those special few who got invited inside, it revealed the world’s most intimate martini bar. Very cute!
I thoroughly enjoyed an evening at Harvey Nichols experiencing a range of unique Grey Goose cocktails, some concoctions I would not have thought of before. The bar man, Roberto, gave us a martini masterclass using Grey Goose and although extremely strong tasting these were fantastic! Grey Goose in my eyes is the world’s finest vodka, and really improves the tastes of drinks whether it is the cocktail form or just your general spirit and mixer…
Food: Embracing Wintery food with Pieminister
So sitting outside cafes or opting for the cool streetfood vans and markets dotted around Manchester is on the way out for me now.. it’s cold, and if I want to eat, I want to be in a cosy environment with heart warming food. So god love Pieminister! Northern Quarter’s Pie dedicated eatery is a place to go to indulge in unique pies with mash and a whole range of warming sides. I love a good pie although it isn’t something I have often, but the menu here is so enticying, there are pies with all sorts of fillings! Beef and blue cheese, sweet potato, chicken and chilli, you name it, there’s a pie filled with it!
I can always rely on the Northern Quarter for unique eateries, and this one is a good old northern inspired ‘pie place’ that I recommend muchly.
Fashion: Party Inspired Clothes at H&M
So as the Christmas countdown begins, it’s time to start considering the party outfits I guess! No time like the present and all. My recent visit to H&M saw me finding a nice little simply black strappy evening top embellished with a neckline of crystal jewels. It has a real delicate feel and low drop back with thin straps. I love a good top with intricate back detailing. It may be simple and only cost £20, but I think this is a staple party piece from H&M that will team up well with jeans or leggings for a more casual night, or a fitted pencil skirt or bodycon skirt for those more dressy occasions. I popped it on for an event I had in Chorlton last week where we were filming for a blogger project, so I threw on a blazer and turquoise jeans and was good to go!
So there we have it – goodbye October, hello November!
