On Thursday 12th April, I’m going to be heading down to Debenhams on Manchester’s Market Street to join in a lovely evening celebration.
Debenhams are putting on a fabulous evening celebrating fashion, beauty and confidence – three of the things most important to me, in a nutshell!
At the event, customers will be joining Debenham’s panel of VIP speakers (with a glass of processco and goodie bags of course) to listen to some their inspiring stories, as well as their top tips in their area of expertise on ‘how to feel confident.’
Because lets face it – we all need tips on confidence boosting every now and again. Well I know I do anyway.
It’s called the Bring it On Roadshow, and I’ve got two sets of tickets to giveaway. So that’s 4 tickets, going to TWO lucky winners.
The event has been created after Debenhams carried out research which revealed that over half (55%) of Manchester residents wish they had more confidence .
Nearly two thirds (60%) of women would like to be more self-assured, with more than one in ten (13%) admitting that they felt self-conscious from the moment they woke up.
Debenhams is taking on these findings by hosting a special event in its Manchester store to celebrate women from all backgrounds, shapes, sizes and ages…
I found it really interesting to learn that nearly one in five (20%) wake up grappling with their confidence. When it comes to what effects self-confidence, they said that health (34%) and physical appearance (22%) are the biggest factors for Manchester residents.
For women, health (25%) and physical appearance (22%) are the main factors with men marginally less concerned with physical appearance with health and appearances being the main factors (28% vs 15%).
Clothing is also one of the main confidence boosting tactics for women. A fifth (20%) said they use clothes to cover up and give themselves a psychological high. Dieting (26%) and working out (21%) also provide a lift. A third (30%) of Manchester dwellers would turn to more drastic measures like cosmetic surgery in a bid to make themselves feel better.
The event is being hosted by a mix of female panellists with an uplifting and inspiring story to tell, including plus size model, Callie Thorpe and Kirsti Hadley, founder of the GrlPwrGang movement.
And you’ll find me there too! Not talking, just watching and joining in and enjoying the evening. I’ll have had a sassy blow dry from BLOW Ltd too – wooo!
You can WIN tickets by heading over to my Twitter page, where the giveaway is taking place…
