Lifestyle: April Fashion and Beauty Favourites

I can’t believe April is coming to an end… it has been such a busy month that it has completely whizzed by before my eyes! It may have possibly been the busiest month to date for whatemmadid.com, but all is good and things are slowly dropping into place business-wise. So with only less than a week of April left, here is my April favourites round-up, with a focus on fashion, beauty, and what I have planned for May…

Pearly Whites with Enlighten Duo Care Whitening Toothpaste

I am actually committing a beauty sin whilst trying to ‘be good to myself’ – and by this I mean my Green Tea addiction. I have grown to love what I call my beauty drink; it’s detoxifying, promotes clear skin and burns fat, but what it also does is promote stained teeth. After reading an article in the Daily Mail (I know I know…) about a lady who drank green tea lots over a few years and now has what she calls ‘wooden teeth’, I knew I needed to step up my game to try and whiten my teeth.

I have been using Enlighten Duo Care from Enlighten Smiles, which appealed to me after hearing it is the first dual-product of its kind on the market. The product range from Enlighten offer a more targeted approach to dental care, which promise a white smile yet ensure oral health isn’t compromised too. I start the day by using the Evo White toothpaste, £12 for a 75ml tube, and finish the day by using the Tooth Serum Paste, again £12 for 75ml. The toothpaste has four modes of stain removal, unique enamel repair and aims to help with plaque. As for the serum, this fills in micro damaged enamel whilst you sleep, promoting a white gloss finish and minimal sensitivity. So far, I am really enjoying using these in my daily regimes. I have noticed my green tea stains are fading slightly, and it encourages me to carry on drinking my favourite hot drink!

Buddha Beauty Relax Bath Oil

As most of you know, I’m a Manchester based beauty blogger, therefore I love to scope out local beauty salons. The newest discovery is Buddha Beauty on Beech Road in Chorlton, a salon to relax, indulge and be pampered with a range of reiki, aromatherapy and massages, just a little selection of the holistic therapies available. Alongside holistic treatments, they offer our longtime favourites too such as manicures, pedicures and waxing.

I’ve been using what I now call by far the best bail oil I own – the Buddha Beauty Relax Bath Oil. Due to my busy lifestyle and juggling a social life with a full time job and running a blog and a business, I really struggle sleeping and switching off, but this has been helping tremendously. It contains a blend of oils to assist with inducing sleep, relaxing the mind and relieving stress. The lovely ingredients include Bitter Orange, Clary Sage and Rose Geranium, which smell so beautiful. It also contains Lavender which is what I need before bed to help me drift off. I love any products which are natural, and even more so when they are scented with essential oils. Really glad I was introduced to Buddha Beauty!

ITEM M6 Tights

Some people may have the opinion that a pair of tights are just a pair of tights, but when you wear them almost everyday like myself, they are so much more. They are my supporting legwear fashion – I need a good fitting, firm, strong pair of tights as I wear them day in day out with shift dresses, playsuits and skirts on a daily basis for work. I was introduced to ITEM m6 which lead me to own a pair of the Black Tights Opaque, £49.90. These tights encourage a beautiful silhouette, made with finest materials to provide a matte structure which gives an opaque appearance. This particular style takes on precise measurements to ensure they fit like second skin – no pinching or bagging- and that is exactly what I love about them. They feel firm on my legs, and more like shapewear yet still look like tights. My silouhette looks enhanced as they cleverly shape my legs, bum and tummy.

One of best thing about these tights from ITEM m6, is that they are aimed to increase the wearer’s sense of well-being and provide an energy boost. Whether standing for hours at a reception desk or engaging in concentrated work while seated, legs remain energised when wearing the Tights Opaque. They have a compression effect and antibacterial properties to promote circulation and keep legs warm and light throughout the day. I have definitely found my staple pair of tights!

Jones Bootmaker Ladies Fitflop Sandals

One of the things I dislike about myself is the fact I have really skinny feet. It sounds totally random, but it becomes a pain when I shop for sandals. As last week has gave us glorious weather (well it has in Manchester anyway), I realised I need some new sandal styles for my half an hour walk to work now Summer is creeping up. For me, I need sturdy, well made sandals that support my feet and don’t make them go swishing around in a poorly made shoe. So for this Summer, I’m after a pair of FitFlop sandals. I have heard about this brand for years, but have never owned a pair, which for someone quite into fitness and body health is probably a little strange. The brand focus on delivering the best in biomechanics, creating sporty looking sandals like the pair featured above. I love a plain black pair which can team up with skinny jean days or denim shorts days and just fit into any outfit style. I walk quite a lot, so I need the functionality of a strong sole. I think these will do the trick this year!

WhatEmmaDid.com Boutique Shoot

Hooray – I finally managed to book in a photoshoot for the Spring/Summer 2015 WhatEmmaDid Boutique shoot. That’s right, it’s getting nearer to looking all professional and ready for a full on launch. The boutique is live now, with just a capsule collection of under 30 boutique dresses to being with. From August this year, a full collection will be rolled out and I am SO excited to share it with you all. The dresses are chosen with bloggers and shopaholics in mind; with prices averaging around £15-£25 for a stunning occasion dress.

This week I had my first international order, as the boutique will be shipping orders all over the world. At present, my photoshoot images aren’t quite ready to load, but I do have some fantastic sneak peak shots from the shoot which I will start uploading onto the boutique and also in a dedicated blog post.

If any bloggers out there want to purchase a dress, do drop me an email first at editor@whatemmadid.com as I am always looking out to collaborate with fellow bloggers on a range of exciting happenings!

Phew – busy April! Let’s go into May with just as much enthusiasm and dedication…
