As a huge lover of interiors and homewares, I realised it’s been a while since I shared a decoration and interior themed post with you all. Plus it is quite nice to break away from Christmas crazy-ness for a minute!
So I am currently in desperate need for my own ‘at-home’ office, and more so an apartment which has lots of space for all my fashion related clutter- plus my freelance world is slightly manic and in major need of organisation. I guess there’s no time like the present to showcase some of the home, furniture and decorative inspirations I have been researching into recently.
If I haven’t mentioned it before on here, I’m a huge fan of modern, clean and classic interiors. Monochrome with a touch of slate grey is always my chosen colour palette, and if I could have it my own way, finishings would be glossy, metallic, high shine glass, pottery and acrylics. When I start to look for my next apartment, I’ll be visualising a monochrome abode filled with chic, clean lines and minimalism. However, I can imagine my ‘office-slash-walk-in-warbrobe’ will be a bit of what I call a creative persons designer mess!
I discovered Zurleys home and furniture retailer whilst doing my little apartment interior research, and have bookmarked some stunning items that I’ll be heading back for once I’m ready to do the big interiors shop. For example, there is nothing nicer than keeping fresh flowers or modern twig type decorations in tact with a classic, timeless vase. I love this Chester black gloss vase, £50.38 – it will never date and could be placed in any room of the apartment.
Seats and storage all in one! These Bamboo Cavas Storage Seats cost £76.14 for the pair. They give a more modern look to the usual wood effect furniture that you normally have around the home, such as oak or pine effect with it’s light colour. It’s only been this year where I’ve actually become aware of all the different types of wood that’s available. If you want to check out different wood types, Trade Furniture Company has a pretty extensive offering, including mango dark, cuba honey and indian rosewood furniture.
And how appropriate for a blogger who is always photographing things? This Tripod Floor Lamp, £132, is a must for all the arty, creative types out there.
Monochrome may be simple, but it makes a statement. How lovely would this Spiro Rug starting from £29.99? I would have this as a central focus in my living room…
Only I would lust after an uber-glamorous office desk. But seriously – imagine going into your office everyday and displaying all your work out this striking Chrome and Black Desk, £174.95? It would certainly make me look forward to cracking on with my to-do list more often. At present, my desk involves hunching over whilst sat on my bed (not recommended!)
Pure class – this beautiful Zurleys Chesterfield Leather Stool, £136. Needs no extra comment…
And my last interior love of today is this pretty White Gloss Carved Mirror, £64.89. I would love to have this hanging up in a hallway, perfect for that last glance at your hair and make-up before heading out of the door. It kind of has that shabby chic princess mirror type look, yet fitting in with a modern, clean monochrome feel too.
See how everything looks so stunning in simple black and white? Do share with me your interior loves, and when I manage to kit out a new apartment hopefully in the new year, I’ll re-visit with an interiors style post featuring my collections from Zurleys!
