I have to say, after watching in amazement at her outrageous performances throughout last year, and being brainwashed to take a ride on a disco stick (ahem), I can finally say I am fascinated by the legend that is Lady Ga Ga.
When I first heard about Ga Ga’s collaboration with Cyndi Lauper for MAC cosmetics, I couldn’t work out which I was more excited to see; the actual Ga Ga lipstick, or her outfit on the campaign photo shoot!
The MAC Viva Glam cosmetics campaign for Spring/Summer 2010 features Cyndi Lauper and Lady Ga Ga as the newest faces of the MAC AIDS fund. The two electro pop princesses each have their own lipsticks for the line, with 100% of the proceeds going straight to the MAC AIDS fund. The launch is rumoured for March, and lipsticks will cost around £8.50. In my opinion, MAC couldn’t have chosen a better pair to face the campaign. They both have the big hair, the crazy clothes, and the outrageous make up. Definitely two girls who just wanna have fun.
Whilst eagerly trying to search for the shade of lipstick Ga Ga will launch, I came across something even more exciting – Lady Ga Ga Barbie Dolls. Forget the dolls you once played with, where Barbie’s outfits were so mundane and mainstream fashion. These glammed up dolls are styled in Ga Ga clobber from some of her most memorable outfit moments. Spikey bra’s, hair bow’s and see-through shirts, these are definitely the dolls for the grown up nation!
The artist who has wow-ed us with this DIY doll tribute is 29-year-old Veik, who has created mini Ga Ga outfits to take Barbie up a level in the style stakes.
Check the images out below, I certainly know I would accept a Ga Ga doll as a present even in my mid twenties….
