As most of you guys know, I’m always on the look out for new and innovative skincare products I haven’t tried before. Lets face it: there are millions out there, and it can be a struggle knowing which ones are better than the other.
That’s one thing I take real pleasure from by running the beauty side of this blog. I love to try out as many skincare brands as possible, and feature the best ones on here. Trust me, I am usually inundated with different brands, but only the ones worth shouting about end up on the blog…
So today’s brand in focus is one I wasn’t familiar with before I tried them out. Institut Esthederm is a brand inspired by professional aesthetics, life and sun living. It’s not highly advertised, and by researching the brand first, it looks as if they have many loyal customers who recommend the brand via word of mouth.
The brand has the mission to protect your skin’s original beauty, and by that, they developed a water that’s designed to protect, harnessed the light of the sun. Their skin-friendly formulas use this Cellular Water which gives constant protection against ageing, helping to optimise it the skins cellular metabolism and strengthen its ability to adapt and improve its resistance to environmental stressors.
I tried out two products from the brand, and here’s what my first thoughts are…
Institut Esthederm Osmoclean Gentle Deep Pore Cleanser – Deep cleansing skincare.
Firstly, the Institut Esthederm Osmoclean Gentle Deep Pore Cleanser is an ultra-technical cream cleanser which is super gentle, yet uniquely effective in cleansing and eliminating impurities deep within the pores. I wear a lot of heavy makeup due to have lots of breakouts, scars and red marks, so I need a cleanser which is going to get really deep and remove everything.
From the first time I used it, I loved how the product doesn’t feel that thick upon application, but when in contact with warm water, it thickens up all rich and creamy, rinsing all the dirt and grime away. It definitely leaves you with skin that feels the cleanest it can get.
They say that this cleanser balances and refines the skin, reducing blackheads with regular use. I don’t have too many blackheads thankfully, but I notice that after using this for a few days, my skin doesn’t flare up with the same redness it sometimes gets when cleansing, and doesn’t feel ‘tight’ and a bit irritated after washing.
For me, the cleanser is a little dream to use. I love it’s creamy consistency, and how it turns into more of a deep cleansing emulsion and just gives me what feels like the cleanest skin I’ve had! Full of radiance and freshness.
It’s ideal for all skin types, but they do recommend as it is a deep cleanser, normal skins should use around twice a week, and those with problem or sensitive skin just once a week.
It costs £26.50 and should last a long time – a little goes a long way!
Institut Esthederm Osmoclean Lightening Buffing Mask 75ml
Now the Institut Esthederm Osmoclean Lightening Buffing Mask 75ml has to be the extra ‘wow’ product out of the two. I love a product which acts as an effective exfoliating product, and this one has a formula that combines exfoliation with a care mask to remove dead cells and surface irregularities.
Perfect for my clogged up complexion!
They say this product is ideal for those with dull or rough textured skin, or to use as a treatment occasionally for those who want to treat their skin to a deep exfoliation a couple of times a month.
I noticed visible results from the second time I used this, refining my skin texture, leaving it clarified and more ‘even’, but overally, feeling like it was free from any ‘gunk’. Yes I know that word is awful!
Through exfoliation, the Lightening Buffing Mask immediately removes dead skin cells and other surface imperfections that dull skin’s radiance. You apply a thick layer to clean dry skin, leave for what they call a ‘short period of time’ (I leave for 15 minutes) and rinse off. Straight away, the skin feels super smooth and clearer, a real deep exfoliation leaving my complexion brighter and softer.
It’s packed with patents, associated actives and the magic cellular water, giving this product a high quality ingredient line up.
Although it’s a powerful exfoliate, it’s gentle enough to use 1/2 times a week. Again it feels like a real treat product, deeply removing all the build-up of dead skin, impurities and pollution which lead to a lack of radiance.
If the rest of the products are anything like these two, I can thoroughly understand why this brand has a cult following…
