Primark, Peacocks and H&M will be shaking in their boots when they hear the latest rumour sweeping around the retail world. I, along with many others I’m assuming, really hope it’s true that Tesco’s Florence & Fred clothing label is set to open its first standalone High Street fashion store.
It’s one of my personal highlights when doing a weekly Tesco shop; taking a break from the freezer aisle to nosey around the rails of Tesco’s value clothing, and popping the odd £3 t-shirt and cheap accessories into my trolley.
The cheap chic supermarket brand is tempted to open it’s first store after hearing the latest reports that fast fashion brands Primark and Matalan are up in sales, being the most popular choices on the High Street. They plan to open their first flagship store in London’s West End, which is bad news for me living up North, but fingers crossed it will be a success and Manchester will be the next city to have its own F&F store!
I know that the brand has angered the designer fashion industry, with its almost identical copies of dresses that have been featured on the catwalk, but that’s actually what I love so much about F&F! They were the centre of angry talks when their Kingfisher Blue Grecian dress was an exact replica of a £1,400 Chloe dress, where Tesco’s version came in at a cheap and cheerful £35. And rightly so, I say! Nothing wrong with giving us normal girls a chance to wear something so stylish without breaking the bank!
In true ‘What Emma Did’ style, here’s my favorite items that are in store at Florence & Fred right now. Looks like we will just have to put up with visiting Tesco for now, but hopefully we will be treated to our very own F&F standalone’s before we know it!
PS: They have a really good Summer sale on at the moment so I’d suggest you grab some bargains quick time!
