Fashion: Why I Love Layering Up For Autumn

October has officially arrived, and although we’re only a day or so into the month, has anyone else noticed that the temperature has just dropped?!

Just like that. Like, it’s October now people, here’s a case of colder weather and darker nights, handed to you straight away. Eurgh. I can already feel the chill in the air and that feeling of longer evenings. And not to mention those dull mornings when it’s black outside.

However, I have to admit that I love Autumn/Winter fashion because it’s just so much easier to plan. I mean, all I have to do is plan an outfit which includes layers, cosy knits, some form of sleeves and something covering my legs (mainly jeans or leggings) and I’m done.

I still need to tackle my A/W18 coat situation, but I’ll assess that later this month. For now, I’m focusing on knitwear, and layering up with some smart chunky knits to to stylish, yet keep in the warm!

This cardigan I’m wearing in today’s outfit post is from Superdry, which to be precise, is the Brooke Ribbed Cardigan, £54.99 from their knitwear range. I really wanted a ‘fail safe’ cardigan, which is why I chose this charcoal grey colour. I wanted one that is real thick and quite heavy, made from 100% cotton.

Because it’s such a simple style, a real thick knit and super comfy, I can wear this over pretty much anything. As long as the top underneath isn’t too thick itself, this cardigan is a winner for trapping in the heat!

I’ve actually layered it over another Superdry T-shirt here, so I’ve gone all double-up with one brand, which I don’t usually do. The cardigan features two front pockets and is finished with a Superdry logo tab on the hem, and can be dressed down and dressed up, depending on what I decide to pair it with.

On today’s occasion, it’s leggings, slipper boots and a casual tee!

Alongside knitwear, you may have spied my I SAW IT FIRST fashion haul over at my blog post here. I mentioned this Tux Style Mac Jacket which I got in both black and camel. Well, I know you’ll look at it and think that doesn’t look too warm and cosy, but the mantra behind buying it is so I can wear another coat on top of it.

And then when I go to my evening events with the blog, like restaurants and bars etc, I can have a nice sassy little jacket style coat on underneath which looks good enough to keep on.

So kinda like keeping my jacket on, although it’s not actually my main jacket. If that makes sense!

It’s all about layers for me this Autumn/Winter season… what about you?
