Fashion: WhatEmmaDid Boutique Showcases First Press Event

Last month was rather exciting for me – I had my first event where I got to showcase the WhatEmmaDid Boutique to a crowd of fashion and beauty bloggers, plus a handful of local Manchester press and companies. The event was set up by the lovely team at The Press Tent, who used The Escalator behind Grindsmith Coffee Shop on Deansgate to host the fashionable event.

The Escalator itself is a fantastic hub-space for start-ups, freelancers and innovators who need a creative work environment and a place to network. It really is a super cool and quirky office space for those who regularly hot desk and seek places to work. It’s tech inspired and ultra modern setting was the perfect place for myself, Rock on Ruby, Twin Face Jewellery and a number of other fashion retailers to ‘set up shop’ and show our latest collections to the crowd of fashionistas.

The event itself was possibly a much bigger deal for me than anyone else, as my boutique had only been live for less than eight weeks at the time, and I hadn’t had much chance to spread the news about it, or even tell that many people that whatemmadid.com had grown into a boutique too. So it was basically the first time I was opening myself up for feedback from potential shoppers and fashion bloggers.

Everyone’s feedback was more than I could have asked for; the shower of lovely comments and positive words about my brand was fantastic, plus it was an incredible opportunity to reach out and network with new bloggers I haven’t had chance to meet before.

Bloggers and press were treated to an array of exciting cocktails, with drink brands such as Luxardo on board and a DJ playing a mix of hits. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone at The Press Tent for allowing me this amazing opportunity – it was a scary step when my boutique is such a baby at the moment, but the support from the team and also from all of the North West fashion bloggers made me feel very accomplished by the time the event came to a close.

A huge thank you to everyone involved!
