As Autumn officially approaches and it’s starting to get so much darker (and colder, in my opinion), I’ve started to update my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. But because it’s a little early for me to start turning up to work and social events wrapped in cosy jumpers and bobble hats, I thought I’d start with accessories first…
I’ve recently welcomed these beautiful grey suede boots from Ted Baker at Cloggs to my wardrobe, and I absolutely adore them!
I’ve always been a grey person. Whenever I get my nails done (usually gel), I opt for grey. Whenever I look for skinny jeans or smart jackets, again I look for shades of grey. I even love wearing grey eyeshadow and often line my eyes with grey kohl pencil too. So it’s no surprise I went for a pair of grey boots for the new season.
This particular style are called the Ted Baker Sailly Ankle Boots in Dark Grey Suede, and cost £135 from Cloggs. I haven’t owned a pair of shoes from Cloggs before, but I knew exactly what I was looking for, entered it into search, and uncovered the website which actually had a fair few stylish options under ankle boots.
The soft feel to these boots and relaxed style mean they go really well with skinny jeans and a tee, yet I can also dress them up with a midi dress or tailored trousers and a sassy shirt. It’s a real versatile addition, and the colour makes it super easy to pair these with pretty much any colour palette.
As most of you will know, I’m pretty keen on wearing black, in which this style give off that touch of subtle colour.
The soft suede upper makes these easy to wear even though they have a fairly high stacked heel. I can still manage to wear them for work though. But maybe that helps because I sit on my bottom for most of my working day! I love the little decorative suede bow, tipped with Ted Baker embossed Rose Gold metal hardware to give them a girly touch.
I noticed that this pair are fitted with an Ortholite foam insole which provides a range of enhancing properties; designed to give you a more comfortable, durable shoe. Must be why I can trot around in this height of a heel without feeling crippled yet!
If you’re looking to start updating your wardrobe for the A/W season but don’t feel like you can quite purchase a woolly jumper yet, then perhaps look at a suede pair of ankle boots to ease you In. I really love these and they are making me get that little bit excited about popping these on with some cosy knits and jeans to head to the Christmas Markets in November. OK maybe I’m getting a little ahead of myself
