It’s been new shoes time for me for a long time coming. I’ve recently been updating my Summer wardrobe in terms of little tops, dresses, shorts and even swimwear, but my footwear is an area I’ve been a little slack with. I actually looked at my shoe collection the other day and thought to myself damn Emma, how have you let it get this bad?
For a fashion blogger, it’s not acceptable (because pretty shoes are an essential, obv), so I’ve set myself on a mission to shop some ‘new recruits’. As much as I’ve been looking for gorgeous, stylish looking shoes, I also want options which aren’t going to date – you know the ones that can stay in your wardrobe for a couple of years and get a lot of wear from them?
My first need was a solid Spring/Summer all-rounder: a soft leather pair of wedges in a tan shade. Knowing that the Kurt Geiger- the king of fashionable, luxury shoes – wouldn’t let me down, I found this super lovely pair of wedges on their website, called Sasha. It was a difficult choice though a there are so many stunning pairs over at their women’s collection.
This sassy pair are the type of shoes that can be worn with skinny denim’s or tailored trousers in the breezier early Spring months. But for those red hot sunshiney days on holiday when you are wearing just a bikini top and cut off shorts, they are also an ideal to slip on.
I’m not usually one to spend a fair amount of shoes, but I do always look for high quality, so it sometimes means dipping my hand in my pocket a little further. On this shoe hunt occasion, I was looking for a pair that came in below £100, and these little beauts came to £85, which is reflected in the comfort, softness and durability. They really are one of the softest leather shoes I’ve worn, featuring a sensible 65 mm wedge, making them ideal for me to pop on for work too!
With a double-cross tan Lurex front strap, they also bring a little sparkle to summertime casuals too. I think they look really pretty with this laid back dungaree dress and crisp white top…
For a girl who usually just wears all black/grey/white/navy everything, these fresh tan slip on’s with an ankle strap are my new favourites. Tan is such a good shade to team up with pretty much any colour of clothing, and I really should invest in this warm shade more often.
Thanks Kurt Geiger – your Kurt Geiger and Carvela shoes never let me down!
