So you all know I love to wear the colour black, so when I was picking an outfit to wear for a friends hen party weekend, opting for a smart, sassy black outfit was a given for me. However, seeing as I’ve woken up to minus temperatures for the last few mornings, I’m a little scared of stepping out in my slinky backless numbers, or those strappy little outfits that literally make me freeze.
It’s November, and it’s all about knitwear. So when browsing River Island online the other week, I skipped my usual night out attire search, and went straight to Knitwear. Surely I could find a pretty knitwear dress stylish enough for a weekend in Liverpool!
Looks like I found it! How gorgeous is this Black Turtle Neck Knit Dress, complete with a cheeky little cut out detail under the shoulders, a slit up one side, and long sleeves to keep me that little bit snug. It’s also mega comfy, so it doesn’t feel like I’m all dressed up when it’s on. However, it certainly looks dressy, and its so figure hugging that it makes me feel all held in and shapely!
The dress sits under the River Island Knitwear collection and costs £45 from the petite range. Because I’m just 5 ft 3 and a size 8, I find River Island petite clothes really work for my figure. This midi style dress sits perfectly above my shins, and not reaching my ankles like some standard fitting ranges do!
As you can see, opting for knitwear on a night out didn’t make me look less dressy or sophisticated, you wouldn’t even have guessed it was a thick knit item thanks to its super flattering bodycon style.
A true wardrobe staple!
