It’s officially October, and one of the priority things I have on my to-do list is to update my wardrobe with a few staple pieces, to see me through the new Autumn Winter season. I actually have a much greater love for a darker colour palette and heavier fabrics than the lighter, floaty Summer styles – there is just something about A/W fashion that feels a lot more ‘me’.
One of the items I wanted to make sure I had to update my wardrobe was a deep grey/black casual dress, one that I can wear with tights or bare legs for the evening. I wanted it to be of a shorter length so I can pair it with skinny jeans or leggings during the day too, therefore I can get lots of multiple wear. So I think I have found it from the Tunic Dress selection over at House of Fraser, from the Oasis brand. I did a little bit of searching via colour and style, and finally found this adorable little number. I love the tie detail around the waist and the high neck fastening, plus it’s super comfy and roomy when worn. To me it’s perfect for wearing to work during the day, yet would easily take me from desk to drinks effortlessly too. Plus at £28 it’s rather affordable!
My second staple item I needed for the perfect Autumn Winter update is a stylish pair of ankle boots, sturdy enough to carry me around for the new season, but trendy enough to look super cool on a daily basis. To me, I love opting for black if I am going to invest in a quality pair of ankle boots to get a lot of wear out of, as black is usually guaranteed to match almost any colour schemes and styles. However, it’s always nice to shop around for a pair with a little bit of detailing or embellishing in some form, to give my feet a little bit of interest and not to look too ‘bland’.
I recently checked out the new A/W15 collection from popular footwear brand Moda In Pelle, and saw they have some lovely new trends for the cold snap season. I was particularly in love with a pair of ankle boots called the Bria Boot – a western style high heeled ankle boot in Italian leather with chain and strap detail, leather lining and padded leather sock, which I decided are going to be the perfect new footwear update for my wardrobe. I love the silver chunky chain and rivet detailing which really gives the boot a little more of a tougher look, yet is subtle enough to get away with wearing alongside more prettier fashions and little day dresses, like my option from House of Fraser above. I am so ridiculously happy with these boots – they are going to see me through a lot of events this Winter, and are going to match with various outfits!
The Bria Boot is just one option from the amazing choice of ankle boots I loved browsing from Moda In Pelle, and I also fell in love with one of their new trends called ‘Primal Craft’. The trend is created around an urban theme, with heavy soles, bold embellishment and intricate detailing. I personally feel it’s more of a ‘modern meets masculine’ look, with lace-up brogues, harsh patent and thick soles. A very different look for me, but one I’m truly loving!
Overall, my high neck tunic dress and stylish ankle boots have got me feeling a lot more ready for Winter coming along, so I hope it gives you guys some fashion inspiration too…
