As most of you will know, I love dresses. Dresses make my world go round: day dress, maxi dresses, evening dresses, mini dresses, and occasion dresses. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see the majority of my posts are dress related. But hey – girls need dresses right? To me, if you have a number of staple, timeless dresses lined up in your wardrobe, you are covered ‘outfit-wise’ for any event that comes up.
Chi Chi London is a brand I have only just recently discovered. When I decided to pick a dress from the website, I trawled the site quite carefully, as I kind of always stick to the same sort of mantra when it comes to dresses: to opt for classic and timeless. I follow trends to a certain extent, but in general, I always think it’s important to own a selection of dresses which you can pull out twelve months later, and it is still suitable and wearable. In my opinion, a dress should be beautiful and elegant, and occasion appropriate. Luckily, Chi Chi London seem to cater to my feelings, as I fell in love with so many gorgeous occasion dresses that are spot on for being wardrobe essentials.
As you can see from my gallery of snap happy photos showing off my new Cassandra Dress – a stunning navy strappy number with a large flair skirt. You can tell the dress is of a high standard quality from the moment I unwrapped it, as you can feel the weight and see the structure. It’s a pretty high neck cocktail style dress, with it’s pleat detail skirt being a main feature, along with a fitted bodice and padded bust. I absolutely love it, and can’t wait to wear it to a Christmas party in December. It’s the type of dress I can wear out during the party season, yet save in my wardrobe for any big birthday events or celebrations next year. With it’s simple yet statement colourway, I can just mix up my accessories to tailor the dress to the occasion. For example, if I wear this next year when we start to leave the A/W season, I could ‘Spring’ this up with cream shoes and clutch bag.
Chi Chi are often tweeting out lots of new arrivals, so for some online dress inspiration, take a look at their Twitter account here. If you are quite similar to me and love nothing more than discovering key dress destinations, then I think you’ll agree with my thoughts too!
