Beauty: A Spring Hair Cut

You may have seen my recent post earlier this week based around ‘The Top 10 Ways To Spring Clean Your Life’ (if not, take a look here) which hopefully provided some new season inspiration. As it mainly touched on activities, fitness and happiness/well-being, I thought I’d put together a short post based on a little beauty hack you could try to ‘spring clean’ your look too!

This time, it’s all about hair. The nights are getting lighter, the air is getting warmer, and your mood will (hopefully) be getting brighter. So embrace the change and have a good Spring hair makeover – for me, a blunt 2 inches cut off the ends and some caramel blondes have worked wonders! A fresher, choppier, warmer blonde look for Spring/Summer 2015…

I can now sleep with my hair tied up in a bun and just take out the hair band in the morning, run a brush through the ‘kinks’, and have a nice little neat-but-messy wavy look. When there are no more scraggly ends, a messy ‘do’ can actually look rather smart! Or on those more groomed day, a quick once over with the hair straighteners is now leaving me with a straight, edgy mid length style, with healthy looking ends. It also aids a thicker, choppier look, which will be perfect for the holiday season.

For the new season, I’m trying to do less with my hair in the aim to help my hair get thicker, less damaged and grow faster. One of the ways I am doing this is by ensuring lots of avocado, coconut oil and nuts are included in my daily diet. The second way is to use a really good haircare range which promote smooth, moisturised hair, in hope to lessen the need to use heated appliances. I’ve started to use these three hero products from the John Frieda Frizz Ease range – the Smooth Start Shampoo and Conditioner, along with the 3 Day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray.

To try and cut out on heated appliance usage, it’s a good idea to use products which aim to de-frizz and moisturise. My hair is very fine, so a little bit of product goes a long way. I’m also going to keep trying to sleep with my hair twisted up in a bun so that in the morning, I can have summery, twisted waves.

But for today… it’s a nice shiny, caramel blonde straight style. Do share with me your Spring hair tips too!
