If there’s one thing I need to make more time to do – it’s booking a spa day experience. There really is no better treat for a girl. Booking in for a day using spa facilities, pools, jacuzzi’s, lovely hotel lunch, massages, facials… it’s the most heavenly day out possible.
After a manic weekend rushing around Paris, trying to sight see, shop and sip as much I could in the 3 days I had there, left me very tired and worn out (I was very lucky to go, so I’m not moaning, but my poor feet!) So I booked in for a lovely spa day at The Lowry Hotel, using the wonderful services of Wahanda.
If you are not familiar with Wahanda, but you love beauty treatments and often look around for new salons and offers, then I think you’ll really enjoy using it when planning your next pamper. I have used it numerous time when seeking out treatments in the Manchester area, as it highlights in price order the different treatments you can have at a range of venues, all tailored to your search terms.
I had a budget of £100 and knew I wanted to be treated to the lovely surroundings of a luxury hotel, so I searched for a spa day experience which included treatments at a hotel in Manchester city center. Wahanda presented me with a number of options, however I have never actually been in The Lowry before so this option really jumped out at me.
I had a week off work booked, so whilst the rest of the world trudged along on Monday morning to work, I popped on my swimsuit underneath my lounge clothes and headed for a day of luxury pampering…
At The Lowry Spa, you can use the pool, jacuzzi and gym facilities. I was booked in at 2pm for a full body massage and a facial, both lasting 50 minutes each. If you want the best out of your treatments, in my opinion 50 minutes is a good amount of time to experience the best of the best.
Whilst I waited for my therapist, I made use of The Lowry’s relaxation rooms, where I lay on the recliners reading magazines, drinking a selection of herbal teas and lemon/lime waters in complete silence. They also have saunas and steam rooms attached to the relaxation rooms which is a lovely way to wind down and prepare your skin before your treatments.
My full body massage and facial were both using Elemis products, and if you have been a long term reader of my blog, you will know I feature Elemis a lot and I cannot rate the brand highly enough. I am a huge fan of the Tri-Enzyme range, which unfortunately I have ran out of and think it may have to be on my Christmas wish list now.
The calming, balancing and cleansing products that were used along with a facial mask were absolutely divine – my skin was left feeling soft and silky and gleaming with a glow! It looked super clean and clear, and I felt incredibly relaxed. My therapist, Gracie, did an amazing job and gave me a full treatment form of the products she used from Elemis including how many times a day I should apply them if I wish to start using them.
The spa in general was clean, comforting and luxurious, with helpful staff on hand that went out of their way to make you feel welcome and at ease. I spent approximately 4 hours at the spa, and what a lovely day it was.
If you are not too sure what treatments you want to book in for, or at which venue, Wahanda is a great place to start to help give you some ideas and inspiration. Or if budget is an issue, Wahanda can help you search with pricing as a priority. A big thank you to both Wahanda and The Lowry hotel for the most amazing Monday! All relaxed…for now.
