Beauty: How To Get The Best Skin Of Your Life

Having amazing skin is a sign of health, beauty, and youthfulness. I blog regularly about recommended products and diet, as I truly believe that if you look after your skin, you’ll stay looking younger for longer. As there are so many benefits to having amazing skin, I’ve put together a round-up of 6 tips for how to get the best skin of your life:

1. Get Plenty of Sleep

If you’re not getting enough sleep, you might find that your skin turns sallow and dull. Bags will appear under your eyes and you could get dark circles. Ideally, you’ll get 8 hours of sleep per night. That being said, everybody needs a different amount of sleep to function. Some people only need 6 hours. In general though, getting more than 9 hours per night can be as bad as getting no sleep. Try to find the right balance – I get around 6 hours a night and I know this isn’t enough as my skin starts to look dull and tired…

2. Drink Lots of Water

As we all know, water hydrates your body, but it’s also the best beauty juice for your skin too. Not only can it give a healthy glow, you’ll feel so much more energetic. We should drink about 2 litres of water per day, but more if we’re exercising due to the water we lose to sweat.

3. Get Into a Routine

Get into a routine when it comes to taking care of yourself and your skin. They say it takes about 3 weeks to make a habit of new things, so try to stick to it for that long and it should begin to come naturally. Whether this is going for a power walk 3 times a week or making sure you apply your SPF, you need to get into a routine with it.

4. Eat Good Food

Good food will have a brilliant impact on the skin. Eating greasy, sugary foods will make your skin spotty and dull, as well as high GI foods which increase blood sugar. Eating plenty of vegetables and other natural foods will change the way your skin looks and feels, but you must stick to it. I find this pretty difficult, but the week’s where I really ‘cut out the crap’, I do notice a clear difference…

5. Start Working Out

Working out will make your body healthier and your skin by default. Although you’ll sweat, if you shower and cleanse soon enough afterwards, you’ll be fine. If you sit around in sweaty clothes then you may develop spots and blackheads, so be careful! Sweating can be a really good way of bringing on a healthy glow.

6. Book a Course of Treatments

If you’ve noticed an ongoing problem with your skin, such as sagging, you may want to book a course of treatments to reduce it. There are lots of different treatments you can consider, depending on your budget and how serious you are about getting results. 7. See the Doctor

In some cases, you may have a skin problem that requires a doctor’s advice. Severe acne or a rash calls for a doctor’s opinion, so book in. You don’t want to try to treat it yourself and end up making it worse or wasting your money. Sometimes a course of medication is all that you need to help clear up your problem…
