Good old Elizabeth Arden. This brand is a cult favourite of mine that I remember ‘dabbling’ with way back in my school/college days, when I was just discovering make-up. The brand is iconic for it’s all time favourite skincare products, cosmetics, fragrance, and lets not forget – the legendary Eight Hour Cream.
When I thought I couldn’t love Elizabeth Arden much more, I was introduced to three products which have again blown me away. It’s basically because every product from Elizabeth Arden that I try, always seems to be of such a high quality. I can always tell the products have been well thought through, thinking of busy women around my age (late twenties) who need to start investing in timeless wonders.
The three new arrivals are the following: Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer, Grand Entrance Mascara, and the fantastic new Eight Hour Cream Miracle Oil. Yes that’s right – the nation’s favourite multi purpose cream has now launched as a spray oil, and let me tell you, when I say fantastic, I really mean it. As you can see from my usual ‘selfie’ style images below, I’m sporting all three products. I prepped by skin with the miracle oil, before letting the flawless finish primer sink in. I carried out my usual make-up regime, and coated my lashes with the Grand Entrance Mascara…
So a little bit of extra thoughts on these products…
Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer: (£28) This product feels lovely as soon as I pop it onto my hands – creamy and velvet-like, as if it’s really going to transform the feel of my skin. And that it does, much to my pleasure. It creates a base which blurs imperfections and gives a much more fresher, ‘nicer complexion’ look. I mean, I have way too many imperfections to blur away, but it does help a little, and I can only imagine how this will work amazingly well on those with clear skin. It contains a time-release skin-balancing technology to help control shine and maintain moisture for an impeccably flawless appearance, in which I notice I am shine free for a lot longer when I have applied this under my foundation. I also think it’s worth mentioning that I apply my foundation around 2-3 minutes after letting this sink in, and my foundation just blends right in. A lovely product which adds longevity to my face make-up, plus helping to enhance a flawless look.
Grand Entrance Mascara (£22): As I naturally have jet black lashes, and quite a lot of them, I always find mascaras can be pretty good, but I struggle to find the ‘wow’ factor in my reviews. I still can’t comment on the darkening of lashes due to my natural colour, however, my first thought when using this is how close the curved angle brush can get to the lash line- it’s goes so deep into the lash root, wrapped around the lashes with it’s curved head, and coating the lashes from root to tip. Effortlessly as well, may I add. I only had to do this once to be impressed with the volume and lengthening properties. When you look into this item, it claims to ‘increase volume, length and curl up to 80% with our innovative precision brush from the first stroke. No clumps, flakes or smudges in sight.’ And you know what Elizabeth Arden – I back up your quote. I only need one (or maybe two) strokes of this and my lashes are evening ready. You can see from the photos above how dramatic they look. Totally worth the £22, making it a staple item.
And last but not least – I literally can’t stop raving about this product!
Eight Hour Cream All-Over Mircale Oil for Face, Body and Hair (£29 for 100ml): Ah, the world’s most beloved Eight Hour Cream in a miracle oil mist version. What’s not to love before even trying it? The product claims to be a versatile, multi-tasking formula for the face, body and hair. infused with Tsubaki oil to deliver long-lasting moisture. Along with it’s many beauty enhancing properties, it aids in revealing radiant, healthy-looking skin with a firmer appearance, and has a versatile, multi-tasking formula for all three of our key areas: face, body and hair. It also aims to soothes and calm redness and irritation, whilst combating uneven skin tone. For hair, it restores luminous shine, with fast-absorbing oils to nourish and condition hair from root to tip. A great product to help eliminate frizz and fly-aways for super smooth, sleek results. Another use for it is to use it as a massage oil too, to improve suppleness of skin. That’s a new one for me!
For me, I feel this is an incredible product for holidays or for keeping in my bag at all times to treat a million and one hair/body/face issues that may crop up. It would also make a lovely gift for your Mum’s too, especially with Mothers Day coming up on Sunday!
