Beauty: Contouring with Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo

So December is in full swing, and the parties have been coming in thick and fast. I’m yet to attend my works annual Christmas party (not til the 22nd, right before the big day!), but I’ve been on a couple of girls Christmas parties, Christmas themed brunches and meals in the evening.

For today’s post, I wanted to quickly show you what I’ve been putting on my cheeks during the day at work, to take me straight out from desk to drinks to get that striking contour and highlight. Obviously with sitting in work all day and then heading straight out for a festive shindig I wanted to be using a subtle contour and highlight, which lead me to the Illasmasqua Sculpting Duo.

The Illamasqua Sculpting Duo in Helipolis and Lumos Champagne Gold comes in a sleek black cased contour and highlight palette designed to create a subtle contour and highlight. The two shades allow me to sculpt my party look with the neutral matt Heliopolis shade for razor-sharp definition, and add a pop of shimmering champagne with the Lumos shade to highlight and illuminate. Both shades compliment each other really well and give me a shaded, sculpted look. The highlighted shade can be built up to provide an more intense shimmer, so you really can use as much or as little as possible.

The palette costs £27 and is my newest favourite handbag staple. I just apply more of it and build up the shades for when I’m heading out, and it totally transforms my face. I also have the other colour way version, the Illuminate and Nefertiti, in which the shimmer highlight shade is much more pigmented in terms of glitter and shine – perfect for those special occasions.

I have to round up this post with a mention about this amazing brunch I had after my recent Christmas party. It was at Home Sweet Home in Manchester’s Great Northern, and was made up of a soft waffle with scrambled egg, blueberries and streaky bacon. Along with a nice soya latte of course! The menu for breakfast and brunch is extensive, and I’d highly recommend popping in for a visit on a Sunday midday…
