So March is now in full swing, and another super cute Beauty Box from Look Fantastic has landed on my desk. First thing is first: this box is beautifully designed, in an array of gorgeous deep colours such as inky purples, turquoises and fuchsias. As I always say here on the blog, I’m such a sucker for packaging, and this box really impressed me. Look Fantastic also teamed the box up with a suitably matching copy of Elle Magazine, which front cover is also designed to same colour scheme. A lovely little pairing!
So let’s get down to the most important thing – what’s in the box. Come and take an unboxing trip with me whilst I explore each item…
As usual, the box retails at £15, which is incredible value for all the goodies I received this month.
Codage Moisturising Mask: £42.00 for 50ml
This is a new brand to me, one in which I hadn’t actually heard of before, let along try out. I had a little research and it’s certainly a pricer brand, therefore it’s a great addition to the LF box so we can all get to sample it out! It’s made with essential oils and has a thick, luxury texture which spreads onto the face very smoothly. It’s basically designed to hydrate, nourish and promote a look of healthy skin, therefore I left it on for around 15 minutes whilst I gave myself a deep conditioning treatment (two at once and all…). No irritation and no redness upon rinsing off – just soft, fresher looking skin. A lovely mask!
Nuxe Crème Prodigieuse Anti Fatigue Moisturising Cream: £21.00 for 40ml
I love Nuxe products, and have used various items from the brands collection many a times. The brand never disappoints me, as all products seem to do exactly what they say on the packaging, and use active ingredients extracted from plants. They also always smell so incredibly delicious too. This product lived up to my already high expectations, as it is formulated with Blue Ageratum and Blue Everlasting Flower which help to reduce inflammation and redness. Ideal for those with Normal/Combination skin yet can be prone to spots too, like myself. Great at keeping skin nourished and protected. Smooth texture and quick to absorb – a real pleasure to use.
So I have heard about First Aid Beauty as a skincare range for a while now, and have heard many a glowing review. The Ultra Repair Cream is designed to help banish dry skin and is described as being an ultimate head-to-toe moisturiser, nourishing the entire body. The cream claims that after 2 weeks of continuous use, it’s clinically proven to deliver 169% improvement in skin hydration. I haven’t used it continuous for 2 weeks yet as I think I’m going to save this for when I return from a sunny holiday, when my skin really does feel parched. The cream is a super-emollient which heals, nourishes, protects and hydrates dry and itchy skin, with a surprisingly lightweight texture which absorbs super quick. Lovely to use so far, and I’d say it’s an ideal holiday companion!
Apart from the odd ‘dabble’ with fragrance free baby wipes, I always use a micellar water to remove my make-up before cleansing in the evening. Again, I’ve heard many positive things about the Caudalie brand, so I was pretty pleased to recieve the Micellar Cleansing Water and add it to my beauty regime. The product is said to gently cleanse and remove make up from the eyes and face in one simple step, with a formula made up of micelles, which trap impurities in the skin so they can easily be wiped away. I have to say it is super easy to use – just a little bit of the cleansing water on a cotton pad wipes away even my thickest of make-up, leaving no redness behind. It has a simple yet refreshing fragrance made up of orange, lemon blossom, watermelon and mint – such a fresh concoction! A great cleanser which is kind to the skin…Lottie London Shade and Shadow Brush | £5.00
The Lottie London brand are quite new to me, with sweet pastel coloured packaging and the cutest logo. They retail affordable brushes, such as this Shade and Shadow brush I’ve received which costs just £5. It is described as being a professional-grade, angled shadow brush with ultra-soft bristles, ideal for shaping, smudging and lining. I had a go at using this to dab eyeshadow onto my lid in a soft, pale beige colour, followed by dipping the brush into a darker bronze shade in which I used it to add definition to the creases. I then used the brush to draw a precise line on my eyelash line on my upper lid. A great multi-tasker for not only adding definition and shape to the eye with precision, but for sweeping shadow across the lids too. A brilliant all rounder and lovely new brush for my collection.
Oooh I do love a good lip crayon style product, so I happy to see this metallic pink packaged colorburst lip lacquer packed into the box of goodies. This lip colour is from Revlon and comes in shade 105, called Demure. Infused with a triple butter complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut, the crayon to smoothly glides over lips to give a pop of colour, yet also leaving them fully moisturised, hydrated and soft. It’s super handy for being on the go with it’s twist up function, meaning there is no need for sharpening. It also doubles up as a cheek crayon too, to add a touch of cream based blush. I personally just love it for lips, and this shade is the cutest pink ever. So pretty, with a subtle hint of a pearlescent shine. This will be one of those handbag essential items, and a fantastic colour for the Summer.
There were also a couple of sachets of Emergen-C sachets in Super Orange flavour popped into the box, which I assume ties in well with the theme that everyone seems to be suffering from colds/flu like symptoms lately. These are a dissolvable dietary supplement which supports your immune system, adding key nutrients your body needs. Luckily I’ve managed to keep the colds at bay so far, but these will be added to my ’emergency illness’ cupboard should I start to feel run down.
Thanks Look Fantastic for another lovely box!
