Most of you who read my blog and follow me on Instagram will know that I’m a bridal makeup artist during my weekends. Although it makes me super busy (and doesn’t allow me much time off…) I love doing wedding makeup more than anything – the Bride, the Bridesmaids, Mothers, Bridal party… everything about it is just so fun!
What comes with the job is the chance to continuously discover new makeup products, brands and tools. I recently flew to Thailand for one of my lovely friends weddings and offered to help out with the Bridesmaids makeup, bringing along with me a set of brand new tools to try out.
In the form of sassy new makeup brushes, introducing Loella Cosmetics!
I brought along with me my new set of Wild As The Ocean brushes – a 10 piece set from this new, fun, sassy cosmetics brand.
They also do a similar set which instead of the funky turquoise colour I have, they come in a fiery orange and pink set, called Girl On Fire. Pretty cool names, right!
My particular 10 piece set has been designed not just for professionals or those who take makeup seriously. They are for your everyday or overnight glam makeup looks, where the 10 brushes in this set cover all the essential tools you need to create a professional make-up look.
Priced at £49.95, the set contains all the essential brushes for your base, eyes and lips. The set includes the following brushes:
- Buffed up Briony – Flat Kabuki brush
- Need to conceal Chloe – Flat oval concealer brush
- Powder woman Penelope – Fluffy large powder brush
- Flawless foundation Felicia – Flat foundation brush
- Contour diva Caty – Angled blush and contour brush
- Eye candy Emily – Large eye shader brush
- Blend me beautiful Betty – Large eye blender brush
- Divine line Danielle – Eye liner brush
- Fab brow Brooke – Angled eye brows brush
- Luscious lips Lilly – Lip liner brush
I personally chose The Wild as the Ocean brush set over the other sets because the colour way and design is just so pretty, fresh and cool. But as well as looking ‘fun’, they represent quality and professionalism too. And for £49.95 for your 10 key essentials, I feel the price is right too.

I should probably have mentioned this bit above, as it’s pretty important, that all Loella brushes are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. At the wedding in Thailand, two of the bridesmaids I was applying makeup to were vegans, and actually enquired about the products and tools I was using.
Sometimes, it’s a thing I forget about, with not being vegan myself. But of course – a strong vegan girl isn’t going to want her makeup applied with brushes that don’t fit the vegan criteria, would they? Luckily, I had these with me to save the day!
I used the entire brush set on my own face for my wedding guest look, and I have to say my favourite brushes out of the set are the Flawless Foundation Felicia and the Buffed Up Briony.
I always enjoy creating a flawless base the most when it comes to makeup artistry, and I tend to switch up between a flatter foundation brush for those harder to reach areas (corners of the eyes etc) and a buffing brush (a personal favourite for foundation). Both of these let me create the smoothest, blendable foundation looks to the skin of all the bridesmaids and myself.
The Contour Diva Caty brush is also a high contender for me as it’s super fluffy and also slightly angled, so it lets me build up the contour naturally without going too heavy.
A lovely little find from a great new brand!
