I’m currently using what I can only describe as one of my favourite ‘make-up possessions’ of my cosmetics kit. I call it a possession, as the packaging and the actual product itself feels like a bit of a treasure. This amazing product is KIKO MILANO’s Essential Bronzer– a maxi baked bronzer which keeps in with the “Modern Tribes” style by being presented in a wooden case, beautifully decorated in gold and containing a handy internal mirror.
It’s quite large for a bronzer and has a little bit of weight to it, which to me just adds to the feeling that this luscious baked bronzer is a beauty object I just love holding and looking at, even before I’ve applied it! I really feel how special it is just from the whole exterior…
However, I can’t just gush over how beautiful this product is to own, I have to share with you what a lovely bronzer it is to use too. Firstly, it smells of sweetly of vanilla, which is amazing because vanilla is one of my favourite scents. Secondly, you get so much of this product in the case, so at £17.90 it’s really good value for money (and would make a great gift for beauty conscious friends).
On application, it has a silky feel, and I find when sweeping this under my cheeks bones and then giving my face an all over light dusting, it delivers an even finish. The bronzer itself consists of a mixed swirl of bronze shades; a few golden tones mixed with shimmering and matte golds and tans. As well as adding a light touch of contouring and an all over bronzed look, it also gives an intense radiance to my complexion. Very impressed!
So as well as the Essential Bronzer, I’ve also been playing around with my new KIKO MILANO Free Spirit Lips and Cheeks crayon in ’06 Illusion Red’ (which comes with a chunky sharpener) and one of their coloured eyeliner pencils too.
I’m a big lover of a bold red lip, and this jumbo sized pencil product enriched with Vitamin E is a really easy to use chunky crayon-type product which glides onto lips, and also rubs into cheeks for a touch of colour. I’ve mainly been using this for lips, and am loving the precision it provides for application, and also how matte the final result is!
Before application the product looks a really shocking pillar box red, but when it sinks into my lips it kind of adjusts with my natural lip colour and gives a more muted, softer red, which I am really happy with.
This is definitely a new favourite for my handbag to carry around with me and build up on the colour whenever I feel like it. Again, for the usage, it’s good value at £8.90.
If you aren’t too familiar with KIKO, they are an Italian beauty brand established and founded in 1997, and sum up their vision of beauty with “Be Who You Want To Be”. KIKO’s identity is rooted in “Made in Italy” values and the world of the capital for fashion, art and design. I have just started incorporating make-up products from this brand into my daily face make-up routine, and have noticed just how good quality these products are.
Perhaps I’d best try out some of the skincare, eye make-up and nail polishes next and see if they are just as fantastic as the above items!
