So I recently treated myself to a hair update – a good old 2.5 inches cut off with a choppier, blunt cut, and a lighter blonde weaved through. We may only just be entering March, but it’s nice to lighten and brighten up for the upcoming Spring/Summer!
Along with updating my hair, I also discovered a new beauty salon in Manchester for updating a few other of my beauty concerns. Introducing barn//it – which is by far one of the prettiest and sassiest I’ve come across in a long while. And as my poor old nails hadn’t been given any TLC for a good sixth months or so (keeping up with nail maintenance is my beauty fail) I decided to them barn//it take them into their own hands.
But first, take a look at this beautiful set up. Rose gold, baby pink, and a whole lotta’ class….
The beauty of barn//it is that they have designed their beauty treatment floor to be more welcoming to ladies who want to come and pamper themselves with friends, or with groups. It’s almost like a stylish girls lounge, with soft pink walls, funky seating, a shiny rose gold bar area with various stools, and gorgeous mirrors.
The ‘bar area’ lets multiple ladies sit and get their treatments done, whilst sipping on a cocktail or spirit and mixer (or even a glass of fizz) and chat with their friends.
Of course, you don’t just have to take advantage of this super cool area by bringing along friends for a girly day/celebration/hen do etc. You can easily just rock up on your own, sip a coffee and have a biscuit, before indulging in an eyebrow treatment, or quite frankly, whatever you fancy!
If I’m to award a salon in the city center for looking so damn good, then this one wins. Upon arriving, you’ll walk into the hair styling area, and the more specialised facial treatments and procedures are carried out upstairs. The staff are attentive, warm and welcoming, and my therapist did a fantastic job of my nails.
This place also made me feel a little bit special, like I was a VIP spending time in a premium place. You don’t get that everywhere, and to me it’s so crucial when you chose to spend money somewhere as a ‘client’ or customer.
In fact, I haven’t really treated myself to salon services in a while. The one area I’ve been really focused on is my lashes, with both getting them done and actually learning more about the art of providing lash services. Lashes are such a big thing this year, I’ve fast made them my priority. I learnt a lot about eyelash extension supplies and what goes into creating those luscious lash extensions by visiting the Sugarlash Pro site. But as for other treatments…I’ve been slack.
I always opt for dark greys on my nails, but using her knowledge on current nail trends and colours, I was swayed to go for a move lighter, mauve tinted gel nail shade. And the finally result was so lovely! Shiny, polished, groomed nails….
I’ll also be returning to barn//it in a few weeks to experience one of their new facial treatments, which encourages collagen production without using any abrasive techniques. It’s a new facial procedure which is set to become a huge beauty trend, so I won’t say much more at the moment, but stay tuned!
You can find out more about this John Dalton Street salon over at the barn//it website here. I took a look at everything else on offer and was impressed with their ranges of skin treatments, microdermabrasions, botox and peels, a long with massages, lash treatments, hair colouring and so much more…
