Beauty: Elemis Pro Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm

Whilst the weather is still dull outside, I find that my skin needs a pick me up in the form of an illuminating product, to try and add a touch of ‘glow’ to my skin. I have never tried illuminating Flash Balms before, although I am not too sure why as I have always heard good things about the one’s currently retailing, as not only do they claim to give you a dewy and illuminating look, but they also act as amazing primers too.

The consistency of the Elemis Pro Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm is quite thick when it first comes out of the tube, however absorbs into skin really smoothly and a little does go a long way! The product – as with all Elemis products – is formulated with a powerful vitamin complex, and is to be used over your usual moisturiser. The scent is quite strong, however not an unpleasant scent by all means. I then leave it to sink into my skin for 5 minutes before I put my foundation on. The results are quite subtle but nice – as skin looks refreshed and dewy with a really light glow, without any shimmery bits or sparkles which some products give.

The product is purely for giving your skin that illumination it lacks from normal moisturisers- so if you need a product which primes and plumps up skin, shrinking pores etc, then this product doesn’t provide those aspects (just to clarify!)

My personal opinion is that this is a lovely, handbag essential, which is a fab product to use everyday to give your skin what it is missing. If you are lucky enough to have clear, gorgeous skin, then this is a must have product to wear under foundation or alone! I do have an¬†uneven skintone, therefore for me, I would use this product underneathe make-up for evenings out, however I wouldn’t use it everyday as I would have to focus on products which fix skin problems.

Overall Рthis product does exactly what it says, and if your looking for an illuminating balm that features a good formulation of vitamins with anti-ageing properties, then this is a must-have! Available from Elemis for £32 for 50ml, from May 2013.
