I’ve recently been killing my hair – bleaching, brushing, curling, blow drying, straightening… you name it. I’m a firm believer that how you look after your hair and the products you use can really benefit the overall condition, look and feel; so I guess it’s important to invest in a good hair regime!
I have been using a thickening set from L’Oreal Elvive recently, which is great, but I wanted to ensure I was caring for my hair as well as giving the illusion of thicker, bouncier hair. So here we have it… introducing my December hair heroes that have been little saviours.
1. Macadamia Natural Oil Flawless, 90ml £8.75
2. Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Spray 60ml £14.90
3. Lee Stafford Ubuntu Oils from Africa Moisturising Blow Dry Smothee £11.99
4. The Power Styler from Daroko £12
5. Made From Earth Tea Tree and Protein Shampoo $22.99
6. Made From Earth Peppermint Herbal Conditioner $14.99
Firstly, if you are looking to invest in luxury hair care that gives professional results, divine scents and unique products, I can’t recommend Macadamia Natural Oil products enough. I have been using the ‘Flawless’ Cleansing Conditioner – but it actually doesn’t just condition- it is a next-generation product so unique that it cleanses, conditions, simplifies styling and cuts blow drying time in half. It comes as a classy mousse style product, where you pop two pumps of the mousse into your hands and smooth into wet hair. Leave for around 5 minutes to reveal cleansed and conditioned hair that has been restored to give the perfect balance to all hair types. No chemicals – just a velvety feel product which has 6-in-1 properties!
It smells delicious and makes my hair feel smooth, shiny, conditioned and less porous, which is great because it is ridiculously dry at the moment.
Before I blow dry, I have been spritzing on Macadamia’s Healing Oil Spray too. Approximately 5-6 pumps of the spray onto damp hair has been sealing in shine and infusing moisture. When I pump this onto my hair, it feels like a dry oil spray, which I personally love as it gives the feeling of a non-greasy product. I’ve been using these two products together for the past fortnight and feel like I am securing the moisture into my hair, resulting in shinier blonde hair. Lets face it – hair so regularly bleached rarely feels shiny!
This next product is from Daroko and is The Power Styler– you may or may not have heard of this little creation. It is a fantastic revolutionary new piece of hair styling equipment that gives the effect of a hairdryer and straighter combined in one, saving you time, leaving your hair soft, shiny and keeping the style for much longer! I naturally have straight hair that doesn’t require much straightening, so I find when I attach this onto my hairdryer and blow dry straight, it provides me smoother hair than gives the impression I have gave my hair a once-over with the straighteners. However, if you have naturally wavy, curly or frizzy hair, you are really going to see results with this!
The Power Styler consists of two ceramic-coated plates which come in a range of 7 vibrant colours. They are simple to attach and can be fitted onto almost all straight-edged hairdryer nozzles. One of the best things is that they are so compact, they can be taken on holiday or popped into your overnight bag, and it means you only need to use one styling device on your hair, therefore less damage! These are £12 from Daroko online.
I am also loving a handful of products from organic brand Made by Earth. Made from Earth uses certified organic ingredients, no harmful chemicals and is 100% cruelty free. I have the Tea & Protein Herbal Shampoo, Peppermint Herbal Conditioner, and the Vitamin E Body Wash ($12.99).
I love using the shampoo as it is formulated with organic plant-based ingredients which aim to emulsify the scalp and hair without dryness. Ingredients include organic tea, grasses, whole wheat proteins, and other plant extracts which aim to strengthen and smooth the hair. Tea tree is specifically formulated to rejuvenate and clarify the scalp by removing impurities. It also includes Pro-Vitamin B5 which has been scientifically-formulated to revitalize hair. So, with all these amazing facts about the range, I have high hopes that this product in particular is going to really improve my hair. These products are available at Made From Earth – they are a USA company so just allow a little time for delivery. Real quality products and great if you love to use organic products.
Last but not least – if you want a High Street beauty store product which delivers results, then I would also recommend Lee Stafford’s new range ‘Ubuntu Oils from Africa‘. I have been smoothing on the moisturising blow dry ‘smoothee’ product every other wash, onto damp hair, and my dry, frizz prone bleached hair seems to be behaving better. I feel that if you have parched, over processed hair, this is a lovely product to use before you blow dry.
So there you go – no excuses not to look after your hair now!
