Last week, I headed down to Manchester’s Trafford Centre to check out a really exciting new makeup launch I was desperate to explore. Most of you know I’m a makeup artist myself, so there’s nothing I love more than being on the other side of the job – getting my own makeup done!
It’s something I don’t do enough. Maybe it’s a stigma that when you’re an MUA and beauty blogger as a career, you shouldn’t be getting anyone to do your face for you. But it’s totally rubbish – in fact it’s even more enjoyable to be treated to a makeover, and have another professional share some new products with you. (This blog post here about my experience having a counter makeover went down a treat – I was overwhelmed with the responses on social media it received!)
So I headed off to Charlotte Tilbury at Manchester’s Intu Trafford Centre. They are situated in Selfridges, in which the beauty hall has had a sassy new makeover itself and looks incredible.
The Beauty Filters collection is pretty much the dream launch for ladies like myself who want those instant beautifying enhancements. Wider eyes, bigger, brighter eyes, blurred skin and fuller lips.
The collection has been designed to give those effects through a range of unique products. The eye collection is literally something else: the range has been created to give the brightest eyes of your life, with the new Bigger Brighter Eyes Collection. It’s a collection inspired by technology and brought to life to create those real-life beauty filter looks.
The makeup artist talked me through the products, and then demonstrated each one om my face, giving me a Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Filters Makeover.
As you can see from the photos, I look fresh, glowy, perfected and not too ‘made-up’. My cheeks were sculpted and given that pop of fresh pink by using the Charlotte Tilbury The Pretty Glowing Kit, in shade Pretty Fresh. It’s a Coral cream blush & brush duo for £45 which comes with a brush shaped to fit into your cheek contours – so you literally can’t apply this wrong!
Another product from the Beauty Filters collection which stood out was the Collagen Lip Bath. I’m a sucker for plumping, glossy lip products which give my pout that boost in needs. Yet I hate stick, tacky glosses which mix into your lipstick and create a bad texture/colour mess.
This one worked a treat! It was applied on top of the Matte Revolution Lipstick in shade Very Victoria.
What I loved the most about trying out this range was the eye colours and my brows – they were the real show stoppers and most enhanced features which I truly loved after the makeover was done.
The eyes were created using the Bigger Brighter Eyes Transform Eyes palette, where the copper bronze tone was used as my main eyeshadow colour, blended all the way above the crease.
The shades of these eyeshadow palettes have been designed to enhance the eye size and add sparkle, and thats exactly what I noticed when I took to my car and snapped a few selfies!
I’m hoping to do a full tutorial trying out these products myself and potentially filmed for YouTube. But in the meantime, you can check out more on the range over on the website here.
