I am sure you don’t need reminding, but the Christmas countdown is now pretty much down to 10 days to go! Still need a couple of stocking fillers for the ladies? Take a look at this top 5 list I have rounded up, featuring budget skincare and cosmetic ideas, plus more luxury treats too.
1. Skin Therapy Beauty Products, Wilkos
I have been using a range of products from the Wilko’s beauty range Skin Therapy and the packaging is just so sweet. Clean white products with pastel pinks, greens and aquas make these products look prestigious, and can you believe the facial wipes start from 50p! Very very affordable and come in a range of types such as moisturisers, facials washes, cleansers, scrubs and more specific spot-prone treatments including Tea Tree products. I have been using the Sensitive Skin facial scrub with calming Aloe Vera followed by the matching moisturiser and find it a lovely wash. Products from this range are perfect to pop into a friends stocking filler; you could get 3 full size products and spend £5! Take a look at the collection here.
2. Printed Wash Bag/ Toiletries Bag, Wilkos
Present your facial and skincare products in a pretty printed toiletries bag. Wilko’s sell this cute one above, which was available in store, but they also have a fab selection online and they cost as little as £7. The perfect way to keep your skincare products organised, or great to pack up for when you go on a little trip. Why not fill it with a range of make-up and skincare treats and give the gift of value beauty? Take a look here.
3. Essence Make Up Products, Wilkos
I have touched on Essence a number of times on the blog, but the products really are fab for the price! I can’t rave about the eyeliner pen enough, but recently have been trying out the mascara and eyeliners too and find they work just as well as some luxury brands. The great thing about purchasing Essence products this Christmas is that because they work so well, look attractive and are super cheap, you could get a bundle of nailpolishes, eyeshadows and BB creams mixed in with eyeliners and mascaras to provide a full make-up set, with the majority of products costing £2! I’m thinking… hello Secret Santa! Take a look here
4. Lancome Lovely Eyes Gift Set
A more lavish gift, but still affordable and makes a luxury gift for the girlies in your life. Lancome are currently retailing these gorgeous gift sets at House of Fraser*, featuring a mascara, bi-facil oil and eyeliner – the ultimate set for show stopping eyes. I have been a Lancome mascara fan for a long time, and took the Hynose Classic mascara away with me to Australia last year and was devastated when it ran out, as cosmetic prices are double over there. I was so happy to purchase it again once back in the UK.
However, I have read a lot of reviews about the Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara too, and was intrigued to try this due to it’s glowing comments. The Lancome Hynose Doll Eyes set usually retails at £22.50, but is currently reduced to £19.12 (limited offer!) and contains the three main eye product essentials. The facil oil is one of the best eye make-up removers I have ever used, one swipe and even the most stubborn of eye make-up wipes straight off.
What I love the most about this mascara is that with just one application, eyelashes are opened, more dramatically darker, and have that wide-eyed look. The below photos are just from using one super-quick application.
5. Phase Eight Gift Card
This is one for the Mum’s! Have a little budget left to add to your Mum’s present? Or how about your stylish sisters, aunties or friends who love classic dresses with elegant styling and quality? Phase Eight delivers classic and timeless clothing and accessories, yet with a touch of trend. Leaning itself to more high end prices, it’s a fabulous clothing brand for occasions; weddings, parties, dinners, christenings… you name it! Why not pop £30 on a gift card so the ladies in your life can treat themselves to a statement necklace, silky pashmina or put it towards a stunning dress? Take a look over here.
Happy shopping! Don’t leave it too late girls…
