I don’t mention it too often on the blog, but aside from my full time PR career, running a blog and starting a small boutique business, I also am a trained make-up artist. I hardly have any time to fit it in, but I like to do the occasional bridal make-up or bridal guest/occasion make-up when I can.
So as we all know, it’s almost officially Spring, which means wedding season is upon us! Therefore it is time once again to update my kit. I always practice make-up looks on myself first and try out the shades and techniques for a little while when I add new products or brands to my collection. So the latest addition for Spring/Summer 2015 is a couple of new products from MeMeMe Cosmetics.
I love to have lots of different types of concealers and foundations, so that I can play around with shades and finishes. I am currently loving the MeMeMe Flawless Finish Collection, containing the flawless cream foundation, flawless concealer & corresponding brushes – a number of must-have essentials for a natural complexion. When I am creating a soft bridal look, it’s important that the bride and bridal parties skin looks fresh and blemish free, therefore a creamy texture and a medium coverage works wonders for creating a base to layer up. This range provides both those factors, and along with the brushes, the application is seamlessly smooth, making my job much easier. This set costs £24.50 which I think is great value if you are looking for a new foundation and concealer along with brushes!
I am also truly in love with the MeMeMe Quad Baked Eyeshadow Palettes – 4 shimmery, pearlescent baked colours in a palette of tonal shades to compliment each other depending on the look. The quad’s are highly pigmented for a smouldering look, and I am going to be using the beautiful golden brown shades above for my brides this season. I’ve been playing around with this natural-yet-striking eyeshadow look below…
Subtle enough for a daytime look, yet strong enough to take you from desks to drinks. Teamed with some natural looking false eyelashes, I love this look for a bride. It’s so classic, timeless and pretty, and especially if you have blue/green eyes, these shades will really make eyes pop.
I added a touch of the deep blue from the navy tonal palette to the corners of my eyes when I wanted to try and dramatise the look a little, but with all the beautiful shades in these quad palettes, you can layer up with almost any colour and create glowing, sultry eyes. For £15, these sets are definitely worthy for filling up your collection.
And finally, I have also been playing with the ‘Create the look- Smokey‘ eye set from MeMeMe. This set is made up of the seductive pressed trio eye palette ‘Smokey Eyes’, which offers an essential mixture of black, grey & white to create smokey mysterious depths. This collection includes the Smokey Eyes trio palette, Dark & Divine mascara, kohl Eye Line Pencil in Coal & Eye Sweep Precision Eye Definer. I love to keep a staple smokey eye collection in my mark-up artist kit, and also to keep myself for those Saturday evening events. This set is a definite go-to for creating a sultry look – I love the eye sweep felt tip pen inspired eyeliner for creating those sixties flicks. It’s so simple to use and creates fool-proof upper eyelid ‘flicks’, which people can often struggle to create.
This Smokey Eye Collection set is worth £17.50, so it makes a brilliant present too. Any girl who enjoys wearing make-up and hitting the town on the weekend will appreciate these products, so keep it in mind for those upcoming girly birthdays.
I’ll show you some more looks on my brides this Summer!
